Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League launches with four playable supervillains: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shar𒈔k and Captain Boomerang. Representing different corners 🦩of the DC Comics pantheon, each of them caters to specific playstyles and endgame build types. As with every looter shooter, your success (and enjoyment) is predicated on finding the right character for you.

Every member of Task Force X offers a different method of traversal, allowing you to explore the city of Metropolis in a variety of ways. They can also wield three of the game's six weapon types, meaning you'll have to determine which types of firearms🦂 you feel most comforta🌳ble with in battle and see which character can use those.
Harley Quinn
Undeniably the most recognizable member of the squad, Harley's gameplay is as explosive as her personality. Many of her talents are dependent on getting up close and personal, performing melee attacks and shield harvests to buff her grenades and firearm damage. Her arsenal reflects this close-quarters approach; she has access to pistols, submachine guns, and miniguns.
As for traversal, Harley uses a drone which she can grapple to at any time due to its mobile nature. She can also zip directly to the edges of buildings, a la Batman in the Arkham ga🐼mes.
Harley is perfect for a player who wants to jump into the middle of any firefight with her dependence on shield harvest buffs and grenade spam. Unfortunately, her swinging ability does tend to limit her movement potential, as you can realistically only get two swings out before having to land and recharge her gauge. This, coupled with the lack of long-range firearms, can make it difficult to hunt down mobile threats, like teleporting sniper enemies.
Deadshot
Deadshot is the complete opposite of Harley, preferring to keep some distance from his targets as he guns them down with long-range firepower. He wields pistols, assault rifles, and sniper rifles. His talents are concerned with boosting critical hit chance, damage, and building combos to activate his most destructive abilities.
Floyd navigates Metropolis using a stolen jetpack, letting him quickly navigate omnidirectionally in the air. You do need to manage how long you stay in the air, since the jetpack will overheat, forcing you to land ꩵandꦚ give it time to recharge.
This character is perfect for those who like to dodge around enemy blasts and stay mobile in the air, picking off the last few stragglers in a large encounter. This does come with the tradeoff of not being very good up close, lacking the firearms to put up good DPS in confined spaces. You can try to escape with your jetpack, but that means you have to contend with fuel management. Ultimately, you need to deജcide if playing the character with the most freedom of movement is worth dealing with constantly draining resources.
Deadshot's flight gives him some unique abilities not afforded to the other members of the squad. He can hover and aim down sights in the air, letting him set up shots basically anywhere, and can 'melee' off the ground, since his melee weapons are his wrist guns.
King Shark
Nanaue is the most easily recognizable looter-shooter trope in the roster since he's literally built like a tank. He can take a lot of damage, and he can dish it out too! If you choose King Shark as your main, you'll be jumping into firefights with shotguns, assault rifles, and miniguns. His melee attacks are equally mighty, with many talents focused on boosting their effectiveness and inflicting the bleed status on enemies, resulting in damage over time.
Perhaps appropriately, given his massive size, King Shark bounds through environments with his legs. He can execute different jumps to achieve both vert𓆉ical and horizontal distances and has access to a few air dashes.
Of course, he's also the slowest, making it even more difficult to get your bearings when contending with Suicide Squad's overbearing UI and frenetic pace of play. This will result in you relying on your jumps a lot, but they're not the most precise method of travel and can make you an easy target if used improperly. Still, being in the middle of the action isn't too bad if you want to use melee systems since Nanaue has the most powerful physical strikes in the game.
Captain Boomerang
Captain Boomerang is probably the most malleable character in the base roster in terms of his role within the combat sandbox. He can get in peoples' faces with submachine guns and shotguns but can also hit them from range with a sniper rifle. His talents are all about increasing shield harvest chance and rewarding successful counters, helping keep the squad alive.
Boomer uses a stolen speed force gauntlet to get around, allowing him to move incredibly fast. This manifests as a short-range teleport, where you can control the distance he travels by how long you hold the button. He can do this two times before he touches the ground and has three air dashes, making him very elusive. Similar to Deadshot, he has a ranged 'melee' attack, which he uses his boomerangs for.
If you're looking for a character with quick and stylish movement, you've found your guy. Boomer's even better at close range than Harley due to his ability to get in and get out seemingly at will, and with unrivaled accuracy. However, if you're not going to make use of counters, you might as well look elsewhere.
So many of Digger's buffs and abilities require him to make clutch counters, which is admittedly quite difficult with how much can be going on onscreen at one time. A skilled Boomer♋ player will need to master this skill, or be left with a less effective character.
