If you asked what franchises were most primed for the looter-shooter treatment, you probably wouldn't put DC Comics on the list. Nevertheless, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is here, filled to the brim with the genre's tropes and trappings. This means a large focus on endgame grind and optimizing the perfect loadout of weapons ✨and gear.

A key part of crafting the perfect character build in Suicide Squad will be rocking the best augments, which boost the qualities of youꦓr character's equipment, tailoring them to your specific needs. They're essential to creating competitive endgame characters and can result in ludicrously overpowered combinations.

What Are Augments?

In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, augments are additional stat bonuses that are attached to your gear; you can have up to three on every piece of gear, one for each level of rarity (color-coded green, blue, and purple respectively). Their effects can range from small, just as an increased item pickup area to game-changing, like an additional 50 percent damage to enem✱ies with certain afflictions.

How To Change Augments

After progressing in the campaign, Task Force X will meet Toyman, a sheepish tech genius who wants to help them save the world. Amanda Waller will recruit him to your team, and he will set up shop as a vendor in the Hall of Justice, the game's main hub area.

Visiting Toyman will let you reroll one of the augments on a piece of gear, in exchange for in-game currency and resources. It's important to note that once you pick an augment slot to reroll, that is the only augment you can alter, and the others will be locked and unchangeable.

As you ܫcomplete his support squad missions, you will add new types of augments you can upgrade you♑r gear with, further allowing you to tailor characters to your liking.

After completing Toyman's second-to-last support squad mission, you will unlock T.O.T.E.S., or Toyman's Overtly Targeted Extrapolation System, which will allow you the option to choose exactly what augment you would like to add to your gear instead of a random roll.

How To Elite Gear

When you finish Toyman's support squad quest line, you will unlock the ability to "elite" a piece of gear, shown by the icon next to the weapon's name. This separates it from normal gear because it is not limited to one alterable augment slot, and you can reroll all of them.

This will cost yet more resources, and you still need to pay for each slot reroll individually, but it will open up your customization options significantly. Eliting and T.O.T.E.S. will be essential to endgame builds, ensuring that you can ♕get all the exact stat bonuses you need to be effective against high-level enemies in incursion missions.
