While they're not exactly Legendary as their names suggest, pseudo-Legendary Pokemon are some of the strongest Pokemon you can get your hands on. That much is proven to be true in the anime, where they're given their due justice as excellent for battle.
The anime has given some of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:its most powerful Trainers Pokemon worthy of their stature, with most of their aces being pseudo-Legendaries. This list will pit the pseudo-Legendary Pokemon owned by the anime's notable Trainers against each other, ranking them from worst to best.
Note: This only refers to fully evolved pseudo-Legendaries, so Pokemon such as Ash's Gible are ineligible. As mentioned, said pseudo-Legendaries must also be owned by Trainers, so any rogue Pokemon are ineligible.
16 Alain's Tyranitar & Metagross
On paper, the Kalos League Champion's team is stacked, and you would expect the reason behind that to be his two pseudo-Legendaries: the Johto-native Tyranitar and Hoenn-native Metagross. However, if you were to look strictly at their performances in Alain's Finals battle against Ash, they'd be considered the worst out of Alain's six that day.
Neither of them managed to knock out any Pokemon before getting wiped by Ash's Pikachu. It's safe to assume they're at least decent battlers, with Metagross even scoring a knockout against Ash as a Metang, but with what fans saw, they'll have to settle for the last place here.
15 Sawyer's Salamence
No one can replace 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sceptile as Sawyer's beloved ace, but Salamence has been with Sawyer for just as long onscreen. Throughout Sawyer's journey across Kalos, Salamence's development from starting off as a Bagon to fully evolving was well documented.
Unfortunately, despite it appearing in most of Sawyer's battles against Ash, it's never beaten any of Ash's Pokemon straight up. It's scored a double knockout against Ash's Noivern, but other than that, most of its screentime has been spent losing to Ash's Pokemon one way or another. Still, with Sawyer being as good as he is, it's hard to not picture Salamence as an excellent battling Pokemon.
14 Ash's Goodra
Ash's first fully-evolved pseudo-Legendary certainly made waves during the X&Y seasons of the anime. It's not exactly a battler by nature, showing a lot of rust during 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:its disappoin🔴ting turn at thಌe Kalos League, but it's had moments other than that that prove its innate strength.
At its best, Goodra was a tank that could take a lot of hits and deal more damage back, especially with Bide as a frequently used move in its arsenal. It carries an absolute torch of🦂 a Dragon Pulse, as well as an ability to summon rain with Rain Dance🐽 to work in tandem with its Hydration ability.
13 Cameron's Hydreigon
Unova's Dragon-type pseudo-Legendary hasn't gotten nearly as much representation in the anime. Only one truly relevant character owned a Hydreigon, with Ash's rival Cameron pulling it out as a "secret weapon" during their battle at the Unova League.
It certainly did its job, giving Cameron a two-win advantage over Ash to begin their battle. It took a super-effective Brick Break from Ash's Pignite to get knocked out, and prior to that, it wreaked havoc on Ash's Boldore and Oshawott with the help of moves like Double Hit, Tri Attack, Dragon Rush, and Dragon Pulse. Of course, this is its only appearance, and that can only bring it so far when compared to others.
12 Anabel's Metagross
Frontier Brain Anabel was one of Ash's toughest opponents during his run through the Battle Frontier, needing two cracks at her to earn the Ability Symbol. She probably wouldn't pick Metagross as her favorite, having had stronger telepathic bonds with her Alakazam and Espeon, but it has a good case for being her strongest Pokemon straight-up.
It was an insurmountable wall during both of Ash's tries against the Salon Maiden, especially with the help of Alakazam wearing down Ash's team earlier in the first match. It has multiple avenues of attack, from a straightforward Psychic, to a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:powerful Hyper Beam, to its quasi-signature Meteor Mash.
11 Garchoo (Remo's Garchomp)
While 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ash and Sawyer's semifinal bout was more documented by the show, the other side of the coin pit eventual Champion Alain against Remo, a character he faced once befor🌌e during the X&Y Mega Evolution Specials. His ace (and one of only two kn♛own Pokemon) is a Mega Garchomp nicknamed Garchoo.
Garchoo was the main reason for Remo's success throughout the Lumiose Conference, and he put up a good fight against Alain's Mega Charizard. While he ultimately lost like he did the first time, going neck-and-neck with one of the strongest Dragon-types in all of Kalos is no easy feat.
10 Leon's Dragapult
Leon's love for Charizard is unparalleled, but a worthy number two on his team in all of his adaptations is the beloved Galar-native, Dragapult. In the main series anime, it's the only other Pokemon shown to be on Leon's team, helping Leon take out a rampaging Gigantamax Coalossal.
As is typical with its species, Dragapult is usually the fastest Pokemon on the field. It also hits like a truck, making good use of its Dragon Rush and signature Dragon Darts. It will definitely get more shine once Leon gets into more official battles, but what's been shown so far should have fans anticipating more.
9 Professor Sycamore's Garchomp
Here comes another 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Garchomp that can Mega up, this time owned by Kalos's very own Professor Augustine Sycamore. With Mega Evolution being one of his biggest areas of expertise as a Professor, it's only right he owns a Pokemon that can do so.
Her power has been shown even with Mega Evolving, though, when it went on a rampage throughout Lumiose City. After gaining the ability to Mega Evolve, it later went on to be a big help in the X&Y anime's climactic fight against Team Flare, showing its strength to be equal with that of Pokemon owned by Champions, such as Diantha's Mega Gardevoir.
8 Lance's Dragonite
The main series anime seems to have a lot of love for Dragonite. While Lance's in particular doesn't get as much screentime compared to its counterpart adaptations, the moments it does have in the main series show its relative strength.
The shiny red Gyarados Lance caught at the Lake of Rage is making a case to be his ace in the anime, but it should be noted that Dragonite managed to damage it enough for Lance to catch it. Not to mention, it's literally flown in the face of Legendaries, namely Groudon and Kyogre, when Lance got involved in the climactic arc between Team Magma and Team Aqua.
7 Ash's Dragonite
Sorry, Goodra. It took no time for a Dragonite from Dragonite Island to establish itself as Ash's best pseudo-Legendary, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:one of his best Pokemon, period. This Dragonitꦅe is an absolute star, with the battling chops to back up its popularity.
Much has been said about the names it took in official World Coronation Series battles, taking down a Mega Lucario and being the MVP of Ash's two-on-two battle against Iris. Its powerful Dragon Claw and Hurricane aside, no other Dragonite in the series has learned Draco Meteor on the spot, which is a difficult move to pull off and master as is.
