This friendship level will also prompt a series of cutscenes about him making an energy battery. This is not related to the Seed Maker cutscene.
The encounter will start with you walking in on Daryl in the lab. He's angry and ranting, claiming that people in the city stole his Seed Maker idea and are selling an inferior version of the machine. To prove his design is better, he offers to install it on your farm for free. That's it!
How To Befriend Daryl Quickly
The biggest obstacle is getting Daryl to a high enough friendship level to activate the cutscene. Here are some helpful tips for raising your level with him quickly.
- His favorite gift is Fish. Any fish will do. Fishing in the marshy Turtle Pond is the closest way to get fish.
- He sleeps until around 2 PM every day. You can normally find him in his lab from then until around 5, where he tends to wander down toward Goddess Pond. This may vary by season or chapter.
- If he declines to accept your gift, wait for him to change poses. He should have his arms at his sides. In this pose, he will accept gifts.
He's eccentric, but Daryl isn't such a bad guy once you get to know him.
