How To Perform A Crop Fusion

Who Is Vinnie?

Early in Spring of Year Two, Takakura will return home from buying an animal in the city to tell you that someone slipped a packet of seeds into his pocket, and those seeds grew into a large, three-headed plant that he's growing in his house, named Vinnie.

You need to order a new animal, as Takakura will ♛not make this journey unless yꦏou do.

Vinnie can talk, and you'll find he has quite a lot to say. Takakura will ask if you're okay with him keeping Vinnie around, but Takakura keeps Vinnie regardless of what you say.

Saying no to letting Vinnie stay will𒀰 cause you to start with a lower friendship level with him, and he'll stay either way, so it's better to just start level and tell him he can stay.

Vinnie Won't Make Seeds Until You're Friends

To become friends, you need to talk to Vinnie quite a lot. He begins by having only one conversation per interaction before telling you he's had enough for the day, but you can force him to continue talking to you by interacting with him again.

Eventually, he'll give you the option to stop talking to him, sometimes multiple times per conversation as he warms up to you and talks to you for longer, but caꦛrry on! The sooner you're friends, the sooner you can make hybrid seeds.

How many times he asks if you'ꦡre ready to stop talking is a good metric for how much progress you're making in your friendship - the more times Vinnie asks if you want to keep talking, the more he likes you.

As soon as your friendship meter with Vinnie inches into the red area at the right to denote your solid friendship, when you talk to Vinnie again, you'll be given a choice between talking and making hybrid crops.

Make Hybrid Crops With Seeds To Save Money

Once you've unlocked the Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life crop fusion mechanic, you can then give Vinnie two seeds or crops of two different plants.

It earns you the most money to use seeds instead of actual crops, which 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:sell for quite a lot more th🐼an the seedꦇs from which they began. Using seeds will save you money in the long run.

Sometimes, these come out as better-grade seeds of one of the crops you put in, while other times, he seems to just eat one of the seeds and give the other back as the same grade. You may need to feed Vinnie the same combo a few times before he spits out your hybrid seeds because of this.

When you've made something new, Vinnie tells you the name and growth seasons for your new plant, which are most often a hybrid of the names of the base plants that grow when the base plants grow.

When fusing your crops with a Happy Lamp Flower, you can create crops that grow year-round instead of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:only during specific seasons. These are denoted by an outlined diamond beside the name of the seed in your inventory.

Likewise, when hybridizing a seed with a Sagesoil Flower, you'll receive a crop that can grow in all soil types. This is perfect for hybrid seeds with set soil preferences, so you can spread them over into the other fields. These are marked with a filled-in diamond in the name of the seed.

How To Get Blue Hybrid Crops

Vinnie is capable of giving you blue crop seeds if you feed him a Trick Blue Flower with one seed or crop. Trick Blue Flowers are available by Turtle Pond every few days during the Autumn, or they're 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:for sale from Van for 100g per flower.

The cheapest way to get Trick Blue Flowers is to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:forage in the fall and save the Trick Blue Flowers you co൲llecꩲt for hybridization throughout the year.

Simply feed Vinnie the flower as if it were a crop or seed, and he can make blue variants of certain crops! They look like the parent crop, except blue😼, and their use in recipes is slightly differe🌃nt, as the game regards them as their own ingredient.

Custom Crops

As you begin to amass a collection of hybrid seeds, Vinnie will suggest you hybridize two hybrid seeds occasionally in conversation, offering suggestions on which he can turn into something new when you talk to Vinnie conversationally.

This doesn't work for all hybrid crops, but there are 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a handful of custom crops you can create and name yourself to grow on your farm as normal. By default, it has a crop number for a name, which you can change to fit your style.

Vinnie doesn't give you any information about these, though, so you'll need to check the info in your inventory for when to plant them.
