The Dig Site, Explained
What Is The Dig Site?
In Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, you'll find an archeological dig site right beside the waterfall in the northernmost part of Forgotten Valley. It's the space with the scaffolding, which supports a blue tarp over the dig site itself.
Here, you'll meet Carter, the archaeologist in charge of the dig site, and Flora, his assistant for the project. They live together in the tent next to the dig site, and can be found there when they're not excavating.
Together, they run the dig site, which can be accessed by entering the hole under the blue tarp right by the waterfall.
Down here is the digging area itself, an area of marked squares for you to mine, sift through, and see if you can find some treasure or something of archeological importance.
What Are The Stone Tablets?
The main purpose of Carter and Flora's excavation is to unearth tablets that offer a glimpse into Forgotten Valley's history.
In Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, mining at the dig site, your farmer will find something particularly noteworthy - a tablet with strange characters on it.
This will happen randomly during one of your digs, but you will only find one tablet each year.
When you find the stone tablet for that year, Carter takes the stone tablets, but he'll also tell you what he and Flora learned from the last one you gave him, if this isn't the first one.
There is no prize for finding the tablets each year, but between the peek at the game's history and the slew of treasure you take away each time, the dig site is more than worth your time.
Plenty of the people that live in Forgotten Valley enjoy receiving artifacts from the dig site as gifts, even if they're particular about 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:which ones they'll accept or change their preferences throughout theꦺ years.
You'll have the most luck offering the people of Forgotten Valley the coins and gemstones you've found at the dig site, but some of the odd ducks in town like your fossils and statues, too.
How To Use The Dig Site
When you're ready to put on your Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life mining cap, go down into the dig site between the hours of 10:00 AM through 5:00 PM on 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:any day that Van isn't in town.
Down in the hole, speak to Carter and tell him you're ready to start digging. He'll hand you a trowel and set you off to start digging.
To dig at the dig site in A Wonderful Life, simply highlight a patch of dirt from the center of the dig site area (anything with cracks within this area is likely to be a dig spot) and dig.
You may not see anything right away, but digging a few times on the same spot may turn something up that was well-buried.
It takes your farmer a few in-game moments to clear each dig space, but they may uncover signs of treasure buried within. These are often odd shapes in the dirt of varying colors, which denote that something is buried there.
It'll likely take a couple digs to unearth, but keep digging that spot until your farmer has an exclamation mark above their head, followed by a glow from the hole they were digging.
Just be cognizant of where Carter and Flora are, as you can't dig on a spot someone is standing on or looking at.
They'll stand or look for several times - we got stuck on our last treasure of the day waiting for Flora to move for almost two entire in-game hours - so it may help to start on spots you know Carter and Flora stand on.
Outside the time limit of the operation hours, there is no limit to how much you can dig each day. You can also come and go as you please - to finish early, either speak to Carter again, or simply exit the dig site.
After you're done digging for the day, Carter comes up to the surface with you and evaluates your finds.
Anything that isn't significant to their dig, Carter lets you take home your leftover treasures, which you can either sell for cash 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:at your store or to Van, or give to the townsfolk as gifts.
For the most part, you'll keep almost everything you find while digging - Carter will only keep 🌠the stone ꦇtablets you find.
The Dig Site Grows Each Year
While the Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life dig site 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:starts off pretty small in Year One, returning each year reveals that Carter and Flora have expanded the dig site by an immediately noticeable amount.
For each year that you find a tablet, the dig site expands the year after that due to the quality of the research being performed there! These changes are immediately reflected on Spring One of the new year, and you'll also begin to find new items as the site grows.
This means you'll need to alter your digging strategy as time passes, though, as what worked in Year One won't be efficient anymore come Year Four.
You'll start the day with squares that already show treasure there, so it's best to hit those first, as you know there's loot at the end of your efforts.

Below, you'll find every item you can find at the dig site in A Wonderful Life, as well as what it sells for.
You cannot sell artifacts in the Shipping ꩲBin - they must be sold either to Van, or at your store.
