Custom Crops And Third-Generation Hybrids, Explained
How Do You Make Custom Crops?
In Year Two, you're introduced to Vinnie, the three-headed plant at Takakura's house who, once you've befriended him, will make you several dozen hybrid crop seeds if you give him two basic seeds.
And while these do 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:sell for a good amount of gold, you can take things one step further by breeding your hybrid crops together, which, when done correctly, will result in a custom crop.
You'll need every hybrid crop to discover all the custom crops, so check out our Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:hybrid crop guide for more info on those.
Once you've found a winning combination, you'll see a short animation of Vinnie eating the seeds to know you're correct.
Vinnie will then tell you that he's made something rare, and you'll be shown a photo of the crop fully grown to see what it'll look like once you harvest each of your Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life custom crops.
vinnie
Even when seeing Vinnie's animation that lets you know you've got a right combination, Vinnie may still take hybrid combination or two after that before he actually makes the new custom crop.
Seeing the animation is a sure sign you have the right recipe even if it takes a few tries to get the custom crop, thou𝓡gh, so keep trying!
Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life custom crop names are totally up to you, with the standard eight characters to choose a name for each of your custom crops.
There are 47 custom crops to Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, all with a different string of seed genetics. As you may suspect, they're some of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:most valuable items you can sell in the game.
Vinnie tells you a few of the recipes, as do Matthew or Vesta on occasion, but t🐼hese only cover a handful of the custom c💦rops in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life.
Understanding Custom Crop Genetics
There's a little bit of math and science behind it, but the Story of Seasons A Wonderful Life custom crops follow a formula regardless of which specific crop you're making.
Like your second-generation hybrid seeds have parent seeds, so do the third-generation crops. Except, instead of base seeds (like Tomatoes and Turnips together making a Turnmato), you'll now be breeding your hybrid crops (like said Turnmato mixed with another hybrid crop).
Your second-gen hybrids have two parent plants, and the next step in the crop family tree sees the third generation hybrids have four parent plants now, with basic 🌼seeds as grandparent plants and hybrid 𒁃seeds for parent plants.
You'll never cross crops with fruit tree fruits, so save your fruit tree spoils for custom 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:fruit tree crops and make custom fruit trees.
This means that each custom crop gets four seed genes when making your third-generation seeds. This is usually four different seeds, but you will occasionally find doubled plant genes in your custom crops.
For example, Custom Crop 20 is what results when you breed a Melomelo, which is made with a Melon and a Watermelon, with a Carberry, which has Carrot and Strawberry genes. The resulting custom crop will have Melon, Watermelon, Carrot, and Strawberry genetics t🍎hat make up your c🎃ustom crop.
You won't use any blue plants in these recipes, though, so save your Trick Blue Flowers for high-value second-generation hybrid crops.
All Custom Crop Recipes And How To Make Them
It can quickly become confusing if you're not keeping track of which third generation crops you've unlocked, but that's where our Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life custom crop guide comes in.
Some crops have several possible combinations that result in that custom crop, while others have few combinations that work. A few custom crops in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life even have only one combination that makes them.
Since you get to name your custom crops yourselves, we can't give you a technical name for these. As such, custom crops are sorted by numbers in the tables below. These relate to the number in the default name of your crop before you rename it to your custom crop name, labeled 🌜in the game as "Custom Crop 11," for example.
The majority of the Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life custom crops are plant crops, but there are also nine custom fruit tree crops to grow as well, which 🐻behave like normal fruit trees once planted.
You can check your progress in the Crop section of your Encyclopedia in the green journal next to your bed.
Any undiscovered third generation hybrids will have three question marks as their icon in the Encyclopedia to 𝔉denote their rarity and undiscovered status.
Vinnie may not show you an animation the first time you use these combinations, if he's not going to immediately give you your custom crop seed - it may take you a few tries before he does.
That said, we've tested each one of these recipes ourselves before including them in the table below, and can confirm that every recipe below works as of this custom crop guide's date of publish.

* Custom Crops 23 and 24 are made with the same parent crops, but the difference between them comes from what time Vinnie makes the seeds.
Asking Vinnie to hybridize this combination between 6:00 AM and 5:59 PM will result in Crop 23, while using the same parent crops between 6:00 PM and 5:59 AM instead will give you Crop 24.
