Bethesda has a great track record of RPGs that allow players to really build their characters tailored to how they want to play, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Starfield follows the same trend. If you want to be an upstanding citizen who helps everyone, you can. If you want to be an outlaw that plays by their own𒁃 rules, no one is stopping you.

One of the key components to some of the more stealthy builds is, well, stealth. In Starfield, it isn&🐲rsquo;t quite there at the start. There is a way to unlock stealth though, and plenty of ways to level it up to ꦓuse it.

How To Unlock Stealth

A person sneaking behind some cover, hidden from sight from an enemy in front of them.

Stealth is a skill that needs to be unlocked in Starfield in order to use it. It is one of the beginner skills in the Physical skill tree, and just requires one skill point to unlock. This will add a stealth meter to your screen any time you crouch.

Depending on which 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:character background you choose, you can actually start the game with Stealth unlocked. Both the Cyber Runner background and the Ronin background have Stealth as one of their starting skills.

How The Stealth Bar Works

In a red dimly-lit room, a person sneaks around, but the stealth warning indicates danger.

Whichever way you unlock stealth, understanding the stealth meter is next on your to-do list. While you are completely stealthed, the stealth bar will be fully white with a "hidden" text indicator. As you get closer or farther from enemies, the stealth bar will slowly fill up with another color to clue you in to who might be able to see you.

Unfortunately, it seems the detection ranges for actions can be finicky, but here is a good rule of thumb to keep in mind with the stealth meter:

How To Level Up Stealth

Skill descriptions for each upgrade level for the Concealment skill in Starfield.

All skills that you unlock can be ranked up to increase the buffs they give you. In order to increase the rank of a skill, you will need to complete a specific challenge related to the use of the skill.

For the Stealth skill, it will be all about those sneak attacks. Once a challenge is complete, all it takes is another skill point to then rank up a skill. Here is a breakdown of all ranks and buffs for the Stealth ability:

Stealth Rank

Description

Progression Challenge

Rank 1

  • Adds a Stealth Meter.
  • You are 25 percent more difficult to detect when sneaking.
  • Suppressed weapons do an additional five percent sneak attack damage.
  • Perform 10 sneak attacks.

Rank 2

  • You are 50 percent more difficult to detect when sneaking.
  • Suppressed weapons do an additional 10 percent sneak attack damage.

Rank 4

  • Suppressed weapons do an additional 20 percent sneak attack damage.
  • Doors you interact with while in stealth no longer alert enemies.
  • Max rank.

There is a major skill also available in the Physical skill tree that will be essential to leveling up your stealthy capabilities later in the game. Concealment is a Master level Physical skill, but will provide amazing buffs to your stealth as you ra꧟nk it up.

Here is a breakdown of each rank of Concealment:

There isn't a single robust stealth skill tree in Starfield, but you can unlock additional skills other than Stealth and Concealment depending on what you like to do. These are some other skills to invest in that can be useful for stealth-focused builds:

How To Use Stealth In Combat

A concealed person blends into the environment while sneaking behind enemy pirates.

Using stealth in combat is relatively straight forward. You'll want to sneak up to enemies out of their sight, and you'll often want to hide around corners or behind boxes.

Stealth at range can be useful, especially once you pick up decent rifles and maintain good aim. You can also put suppressor mods on guns to muffle the sound of them firing.

Stealth with a melee focus is going to be more difficult, as enemies will likely be spread out with good line-of-sight coverage. Especially with the stealth system's finicky range, you might get spotted even when completely behind the enemy you're trying to kill.

You may also come across items that give skill buffs to your character as well. For example, the Va'Runn Scriptures 08 note will increase your sneak bonus and melee sneak attack bonus.

There are space suits that can have the Chameleon augment on them. This allows you to completely blend in with the environment when you are sneaking and not moving. If you're going a melee route, consider using suits with the Chameleon augment until you are able to unlock the Concealment skill at rank three.

How To Use Stealth In Space

A space ship floats above a planet, nearby some debris floating in space.

Technically, you can also try to be stealthy as you fly through space. You can do this after you go on your 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:first mission with Sarah. If you ever want to avoid detection by enemy ships, especially when you are around the Crimson Fleet, there are a few things you need to do.

Stealth in space relies on reducing the system power of your ship. Power down all your individual systems for your ship, and only put a couple bars of energy into your engines, just so you can keep flying. Keep a distance from other ships, and you'll likely be able to fly by undetected.

Systems such as weapons and your shield are more noticeable to opposing ships. Make sure to power them down completely unless you 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:engage in a space battle.
