Sergeant Yumi is concerned that smugglers are active in the New Atlantis spaceport now that it's open again. He'll send you to speak with the port workers to see what's going on.

One of them will tell you nothing, but the other is relieved that someone is finally investigating the "potatoes." He doesn't remember the ship name, so you'll have to get the records from Aegis.

How To Get The Ship Records From Aegis

Getting records from Agent Plato in Starfield

Head over to the MAST District and enter the UC Vanguard headquarters. Take the elevator up to the Aegis floor and find Agent Plato. Speak to him to obtain the records for the suspicious ship.

He'll give you all the information he has, and you'll need to read the slate and identify the ship. Read the Potential Smugg🍸🤪ler Ships slate to see several different options.

The one you're looking for is the Anansi UC-576B, the cargo ship hauling potatoes. Return to Sergeant Yumi and report your findings. He'll ask for the name of the ship.

Make sure to give Sergeant Yumi the correct name of the ship. You can report the other ships, which will complete the quest early and reward you with credits, but you won't get to the seizure part of the quest. However, it won't bar you from working with Sergeant Yumi again. Mistakes happen.

After confirming your choice, assuming it's the right one, Sergeant Yumi will send you to seize the cargo.

How To Seize The Cargo

Captain Malawi Ndiaye in Starfield

Sergeant Yumi sends you out to the starport, trusting you to deal with the crew if they fight back. Head to the landing pad and board the Anansi ship to search for contraband.

You'll need to manually climb the ladder to reach the upper level.

Once you reach the upper levels, a member of the crew will ask you to leave. They don't want UC Security to search the cargo on the ship.

When you find the contraband, Captain Ndiaye will offer a deal. She'll offer 2,500 credits for you to lie that the ship was clean.

Both Captain Ndiaye and the crew are marked as essential until you refuse the deal. Even if you take the deal, you won't be able to double-cross them later in this quest.

If you take Captain Ndiaye's deal, you can walk out of here without any issue. Sergeant Yumi will be none the wiser and even apologize for wasting you🔥r time.

If you refuse the deal, you'll have to fight through the captain and the crew to leave. It shouldn't be a tough fight, and you can loot the ship after you're done.

Return to Sergeant Yumi with the contraband to receive your reward. Regardless of your choice, you'll receive 3,300 credits for your time.

If you refuse the deal with Captain Ndiaye, you can still lie ༺to Sergeant Yumi about finding the contraband. You can keep it for yourself to sell later, though it is a heavy crate to carry around.
