Ryujin Industries is one of the factions that you can already join after playing the game for a couple of hours. Since it's a corporate business, you have to go through a screening process and succeed in every test thrown at you to get recruited.

How To Start Back To The Grind Quest
To get started with the screening process, you first have to locate one of the various Ryujin Industries Kiosks scattered on different planets in the Settled Systems. The best place to find one during the early game is the Commercial District of the Jemison planet. You'll find it right in front of Galbank in this area.
As you get close to this Kiosk, a small dialogue will play out to let you know that the company is recruiting. You can interact with the machine to start a small interview process. You'll be asked various questions about your experience, education, and criminal record. Thankfully, you don't have to worry about these answers.
It's recommended to select the options with honesty, which mostly means selecting the worst option in every case since you won't have any experience or education level at the start of the game. Once you're done with this, you'll be asked to appear for an interview in the city of Neon.
You can also find Ryujin Industries Kiosk in Neon itself if you go around the main city.
How To Get Recruited By Ryujin Industries
Once you enter the Ryujin Industries building and use the elevator to get to the correct floor, you'll first have to talk to the receptionist about your interview. She'll tell you that Imogene will be taking your interview and give you directions to her office. If you can't locate it, you can also ask the receptionist to go with you.
This is a good time to ask the receptionist a little more about Ryujin Industries and Imogene.
It'll help you get vital information that will be useful during the interview.
She will tell you that due to the algorithm of the screening process, every individual who applied was asked to appear for the interview. You can also ask her about Ryujin Industries where you'll learn that it's mostly known for the Neuroamp research and production.
As you get to Imogene's office, you'll be asked to take a seat and she'll ask a few questions. While these answers don't matter too much, you can pick the following options to be safe:
- Neuroamps are revolutionary. I want to be a part of what's next.
- [Persuasion] I can make any deal happen.
- I'll go above and beyond to get the job done.
- Hopefully, I'll have a role in management here.
How To Deal With Tomo
Answering all the questions during the interview will lead to you being recruited to Ryujin Industries, and your first task will be to get coffee from TerraBrew. This might sound like a menial mission, but there's a major decision at play here. As you're getting the coffee, you'll be confronted by Tomo, Ryujin's former employee.
He'll have a hot head and would be ready to shoot you down, but your job is to stay calm and try to persuade him. It's important to persuade him and avoid violence, which is why it's recommended to save the game just before this dialogue so you can restart if you fail.
Once Tomo goes away from TerraBrew, you can get the coffee and distribute it to the executives back at Ryujin Industries. At this point, you'll also get promoted to Junior Operative by Imogene🥀 and get your first difficult mission for the Faction.
