Exploration is one of the main attractions when it comes to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Starfield, and you'll be spending most of your time going around random places and picking up valuable items. At some point, you'll come across items with a red or yellow icon on them, and these icons shouldn't be ignored.
The red icon symbolizes that the item is someone's property, while the yellow icon refers to Contraband items. If you get scanned with Contraband in your inventory or your ship, you'll instantly get a bounty on your head. Thankfully, there are a few ways to avoid this if you want to sell Contraband.

How To Sell Contraband In Starfield
If you've got your hands on a Contraband item, the easiest way to sell it is by 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:heading over to the Wolf solar system. This system contains a Staryard called The Den, which is supposedly a UC stronghold. However, you won't find any UC ships around the area to scan you as soon as you enter.
You can simply get close to The Den, dock on it, and look for a Trade Authority NPC called Marcel Duris. He'll take all your Contraband as long as he has Vendor Credits left.
If you want to find a different location to sell your Contraband, you'll first have to get past a scanner as soon as you enter other solar systems owned by Freestar Collective or UC Vanguard. This isn't an easy task, and you don't have any possible way of doing it during the early game.
You can bypass a scan either by having Shielded Capacity on your Spaceship or by having a Scan Jammer. You might find a bunch of places to buy new ships or upgrade your ship parts, but you won't find the Shielded Capacity or Scan Jammer anywhere. The only way to get them is through Space Battle.
Don't confuse Shielded Capacity with the overall Shield of your Spaceship. These are different stats.
While fighting other ships, you can dock on them and check their stats. If you find any Shielded Capacity or Scan Jammer, it's worth taking over that ship since it helps you prevent the Contraband from being scanned. Your Contraband being detected during a scan is chance-based even after the mentioned items.
The chances of detection increase if your Contraband's weight gets closer to the Shielded Capacity. If you're trying to smuggle Contraband into a planet, it's recommended to save the game just before you enter so you can try again if you get caught. Once on the plꦬanet, you can sell the Contra🦩band items to Trade Authority vendors.
It's important to remember that you can only smuggle Contraband and avoid the scan detection if it's placed in your ship's Cargo Hold since that's where the Shielded Capacity works. It's also recommended to keep it in the Cargo even when you get out on the planet since you can directly sell from the ship's inventory.
You can only sell these illegal items to Trade Authority merchants. The Trade Authority Kiosks found near Spaceports won't accept them.
If you have a ton of Contraband items and the vendor's credits run out before you sell them all, you can simply sit on a nearby chair and skip an entire day (24 hours). Once you get past the wait time, you'll find the vendor's credits refilled again.
Where To Find Contraband
You won't usually find Contraband lying around in random places because of how strict the security against them is. The few ways to find these items ꦬare the following:
- You can head over to deserted planets and look for various Abandoned Outposts taken over by Pirates or Eclipse. These places have a chance of spawning Contraband items.
- You have a better chance of finding Contraband if you go around space and look for Crimson Fleet or Eclipse Spaceships. Boarding these ships will usually result in you locating at least one Contraband item.
