The 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic remake is currently in limbo. Ever since it was first revealed back in 2021, all we've seen besides a dark shot of Darth Revan is several updates about development struggles, a couple of frustrated statements from Embracer CEO La﷽rs Wingefors, and conflicting reports from insiders over whether 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the game is actually being worked on.

At this point, fans just want to know if the game still exists right now, something that reporter Stephen Totilo set out to clarify by chatting with Disney's head of gaming Sean Shoptaw. If you were hoping that Disney would provide some much-needed answers after all the question dodging done by Embracer, you're going to be sorely disappointed.

F in the chat for ou🥀r KOTOR remake-related hopes and dreams

Instead of giving us answers as to why there's so much drama surrounding the KOTOR remake and whether we can still expect it to release at some point in the future, Shoptaw was just as vague as Wingefors has been these past two years. When asked by Totilo whether the game is still happening, Shoptaw simply said that there isn't a lot he can say for "hopefully obvious reasons" and went on to praise the original game.

Not a lot I can say on that point for some hopefully obvious reasons, but KOTOR is obviously an incredibly popular game, one that we are incredibly proud of and think that there's still a lot of demand for. I'll leave it there.

Despite this being pretty much a non-answer, it actually speaks volumes about the state of the project at the moment. The fact that a figure as high up in the development chain as Shoptaw can't give a concrete answer as to whether one of Disney's biggest and most-anticipated previously announced titles is still being made really does suggest that things are going very badly over at developer Saber Interactive. It would be like Wizards of the Coast suddenly losing track of Baldur's Gate 3 halfway through development.

The latest news on the state of the KOTOR remake came from Bloomberg reporter Jas💃on Schreier ♔last month, who debunked Jeff Grubb's claims that nobody was actually working on the title by claiming he'd been in contact with two people at Saber who are still on it. He also says that even he has no idea whether the game will still come out, and that's despite being in contact with developers, so the fact people are still working on it isn't a sign everything is fine and dandy.
