I went through the five stages of grief when I 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:sold my PS5. Having never owned a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:PlayStation be🐬fore, I’d caught up on more than a decade of gaps in my gaming knowledge and played every ne✤w release for the first year of Sony’s current-gen console’s life. The trouble was, that didn’t total too many games.

I played Ratchet & Cl🐠ank: Rift Apart, Returnal, and… well, that was about it for the console’s first year. Miles Morales was great, but short, and simultaneously released on the PS4 anyway, so I could have saved myself a few hundred quid and still played it. I didn’t really like God of War (2018), so I decided to sell my PS5 before its sequel’s release.

It wasn’t until earlier this year that I started to feel the FOMO. I quickly sped through the first stage, Denial, telling myself I wasn’t missing out on much. There weren’t that many Pl💮ayStation exclusives at the moment anyway. 2023 brought Anger to my door, as I realised Sony was liᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚning up plenty of exciting offerings that I was set to miss out on.

Then came Bargaining, when I wondered if I could rent a PS5 for the summer/autumn to play 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 16 and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Spider-Man 2, two games th🍸at looked right up my street. Final Fantasy 16 passed me by, and the lack of meaningful discussion around the game let me know that I didn’t miss out on too much. That’s what I told myself, anyway.

I’ll admit, Final Fantasy 16’s flash-in-the-pan appearance in the gaming zeitgeist removed me from most of the effects of Depression. I moved through a slight sadness on release day to complete Acceptance, the final stage of grief. And n🌼ow I’ve accepte♏d I won’t play Spider-Man 2 either.

I played Spider-Man well after it was released, due to the aforementioned lack of a PlayStation before Christmas 2020. I had a whale of a time swinging through New York and beating up criminal gangs. Combat was crunchy, arcadey, and, above all, fun, as was moving through the city. Bosses were ဣexciting and varied, and the story was decent too. With Spider-Man, I felt like I understood why so many people love Sony’s third-person formula in a way I just didn’t get with the crushing nihilism of The Last of Us or the one-shot gimmicks of God of War.

Miles Morales added perfectly to the formula, including a story that I cared 🍬more about and adding new suits, powers, and collectables to the affair. Peter and Miles are teaming up for the sequel, and I’m gutted to be missing out. But I’ve accepted it.

You can’t play everything. There are simply too many games. I just bought 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Cyberpunk 2077 to see if the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Phantom Liberty DLC keeps me invested better than the base game did at launch. I’m 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:nowh♋ere near finishing Baldur&rsqu🎀o;s Gate 3. I’m reviewing Space Marine 2 and Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria later this year, both of which will take up plenty of time. I&rsq♏uo;ve got my live-service commitments in EA Sports FC 24 🐼and Apex Legends, neither of which I play so much any more, but like to check in on from time to time.

I was never going to buy a PS5 just to play Spider-Man 2. I’m gutted to be mi🌳ssing it, but I’ve accepted it now. I’m sure it’ll come to PC in a few years, and I’ll dive in to sling webs long after the buzz has died down. I hop🌱e the rest of you enjoy yourselves this month though.
