Although this is likely due to the material used to create the cross directly affecting the mutations of these creatures, it can be tied back to the history of missionaries visiting both this island and the peninsula from the first game. Is it possible that they had come close to defeating the worst mutations for good, but any reasonable records we🐎re purged by the likes of Sah🍰ara Therapeutics?

We meet a person in a silver jacket that clearly doesn&rsq🦂uo;t want us poking around the island. After you awaken from your crash, this person will attack you and leave you to your fate. You will only have a direct confront💝ation with them again later on at the final bunker as they make a final attempt at killing you. Then, they appear again as you enter the golden cube that connects you to a mysterious city.
Other moments are blink-and-you-miss-it, like the VIP dinin🐠g bunker with windows where he watches you and suddenly seemingly gets pulled into the water. This person clearly doesn&r🅘squo;t work for the same company as you, so what is their purpose? You never learn the true identity of this individual or their intentions.

We know this is set at least twenty years after the events of the first game, but we never really know for sure if it’s even in the same timeline.
