Smite 2 was announced to a massive outburst of applause at the Smite World Championship in Arlington, Texas. As a new player to the original, I had planned on biding my time and jumping in for the sequel, but as it turns out, the next year of Smite has a ton of reasons to kee𓆏p playing.

The much-anticipated sequel to the fan-favorite MOBA is finally happeಞning.

Before dropping the big reveal, Titan Forge Games shared some juicy tidbits about new content coming in Yea🐓r Eleven of the fan-favorite MOBA. First off, they’re offering loads of rewards just for continuing to play the game. Playing eleven matches over the next week will earn chests with seasonal swag, to say nothing of the usual Battle Pass unlocks. It’s also a great way to start building up Divine Legacy in anticipation of Smite 2. I love free stuff as much as the next gamer, so I’ll certainly find some time to grind out a few matches.

I’m still very new to the game, so the big competitive Conquest Mode has been a daunting prospect while I play around in the Arena kiddie pool. From the reactions of the crowd at the World Championships v🎶enue, though, I could tell that the changes coming to Conquest are a big d﷽eal.

A team prepares to attack the Fire Giant in Smite 2

The Fire Giant - an enormous set-piece boss in the middle of the map that teams can defeat for important buffs - is getting reworke꧋d. With new attacks and destroyable Effigies in its♈ lair that buff the boss, teams will have to change up their strategies when bringing the big boy down. In the meantime, players will be able to hunt down meteorites that land on the map, destroying them for rewards.

Smite’s third-person view makes reconnaissance essential, especially in the jungle. A new item in Season Eleven grants Raven Sight, an ability 🐻that sends a bird to fly in a straight line across the map. Players it flies over are highlighted, potentially letting you catch an approaching Assassin or get the drop on the enemy team!

Nut's stylized character reveal from her trailer at Smite World Championship

It wouldn’t be a new content announcement withou🦂t a new playable character, and the Egyptian sky goddess Nut (pronounced “noot”) will be joining Smite’s enormous divine roster. Nut is a Hunter-class character whose ult summons a black hole, and will be playable from February 12.

Since all Gem-unlocked skins released fr📖om now on will carry over into Smite 2, there’s a particu﷽lar incentive to try out new gods like Nut, and be on the lookout for fresh looks to purchase on your mains.

The biggest reaction from the crowd, though, came from the reveal of teleport pads, letting up to three players cross the map horizontally in an instant. Even with a lengthy cooldo🍨wn, these pads will be a huge strategic consideration for the coming season.

I might be far from rওeady for Conquest, but with my newfound appreciation for Smite as a whole aꦐnd my love of esports, there will be plenty to do in the lead-up to Smite 2.
