168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Dark Brotherhood questline has a lot of quests, but the most notable one is "With Friends Like These..." since it's the mission where you get introduced to your new family of assassins. There are a few steps in this quest, but it focuses primarily on dialogue.
While completing this introductory mission, you'll have an important choice to make that will completely change how The Dark Brotherhood exists in Skyrim. Here's everything you need to know to complete "With Friends Like These..." and join the Dark Brotherhood — or destroy them forever.
Prerequisites
You need to complete a few steps, including another mission, to finish t⛎he "With Friends Like These..." quest.
Complete "Innocence Lost"
If you want to join or destroy the Dark Brotherhood, then you need to complete the "Innocence Lost" quest. The quickest way to do this is to travel to Riften and find the Honorhall Orphanage, which is the final building in Rif🐻ten if you follow the dock in a circular motionꦚ.
Once you enter the orphanage, you need to find Grelod The Kind and kill her. Killing Grelod doesn't give you a bounty, and guards won't chase you down, so you don't need to use stealth. Leave the building once Grelod is dead and travel to Windhelm, which is north of Riften. Once you enter Windhelm's main entrance, take a right and walk until you come across the building in the picture below, the building connects two separate houses.
Speak to Aventis Aretino inside the Aretino Residence and tell him Grelod The Kind is dead. He was an orphan who ran away from Honorhall Orphanage to contact the Dark Brotherhood to kill Grelod, so he's happy to hear about her death. Collect your reward from Aventis and leave the house. Alternatively, you can speak with Aventis Aretino in Windhelm before killing Grelod to receive extra dialogue, but it's unnecessary and takes longer. You can now continue to the next step.
Sleep In A Bed
If you wait a few days after speaking to Aventis Aretino, the Dark Brotherhood will send you a letter with the words "We Know." You should sleep in a bed after you collect your reward from Aventis, then the Dark Brotherhood will kidnap and bring you to a small Abandoned Shack on the outskirts of Solitude. You can rent a bed from an Inn for ten gold.
After sleeping in a bed, you'll wake up in the Abandoned Shack, where Astrid will fill you in on the situation. Astrid will instruct you to kill three hostages as a sort of test. This is where the quest splits in two directions. You can either kill a hostage, or you can kill Astrid and start the "Destroy The Dark Brotherhood!" mission. Scroll down to find a walkthrough for "Destroy The Dark Brotherhood!" But first, we'll look at the other route — joining the Dark Brotherhood.
Join the Brotherhood: Kill A Hostage
If you decide to follow Astrid's request, then you have to choose one of the three hostages to kill. You may wonder which hostage is the correct choice, but regardless of which hostage you kill, the quest will progress in the same way. You can even kill all three hostages, and the result will be the same.
Kill any of the hostages, then speak to Astrid. She'll give the location of the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary, which is west of Falkreath.
Enter The Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary
Leave the Abandoned Shack and travel to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary. The door to the sanctuary will ask for a password; choose "Silence, My Brother" to gain entrance. Talk to Astrid near the door, and she'll give you a set of Shrouded Armor. You can find the Shrouded Outfit throughout t🧸he sanctuary, which is a different set of armor better suited for mages.
You now have access to the Dark Bಞrotherhood questline, so go meet your new family members and start completing contracts.
Destroy the Brotherhood: Kill Astrid
The alternate choice is to attack Astrid, but she's quite a strong enemy, especially if you're a low-level. You can attack her after she tells you to kill a hostage. If you're having trouble defeating her, then turn the difficulty down or try to get a powerful hit in before initiating combat. Astrid uses one-handed blades, so she'll stay within melee range for most of the fight.
Once Astrid is dead, loot her body to get the Blade Of Woe. You can free the hostages if you wish, but it's not required. Now that you know about the Dark Brotherhood, you can report your encounter to the Penitus Oculatus in Dragon Bridge, a small town southwest of Solitude.
Complete "Destroy The Dark Brotherhood!"
Leave the Abandoned Shack and travel to Dragon Bridge. Speak to any guard in Dragon Bridge or any other town and inform them about your encounter with Astrid. The guard will direct you towards the Penitus Oculatus Outpost in Dragon Bridge. Enter the Penitus Oculatus Outpost and speak with Commander Maro. Maro will offer you the chance to defeat the Dark Brotherhood once and for all (for﷽ a gold reward, of course).
The Penitus Oculatus have the code to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary, so all you need to do is travel to the door west of Falkreath and speak "Silence, My Brother" to enter their lair.
You can approach this mission with stealth or rush straight into combat. If you decide to avoid stealth, then bring a companion because you may have to fight multiple Dark Brotherhood members at a time. There are five ജassassins to defeat in total🎀, and you can avoid fighting them together if you use stealth.
The assassins include Gabriella, Nazir, Veezara, Festus Krex, and Arnbjorn. There's a frostbite spider in the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary, but killing it isn't required. The assassins primarily use melee weapons, so heavy armor is an asset during this battle.
Once every assassin is dead, you can loot their bodies and the sanctuary to find lots of useful items. The most notable items in the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary include a Stone Of Barenziah inside Astrid's bedroom, a full set of Shrouded Armor, and the Shrouded Outfit.
When you've picked up everything you want, leave the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary and return to Commander Maro in Dragon Bridge. Tell Maro of your victory, and he'll reward you with 3,000 gold. This is a quick way to earn a lot of gold early in a playthrough. After you get 🌠the gold, the quest will🧜 conclude.
The Consequences Of Each Decision
If you decide to kill a hostage and join the Dark Brotherhood, then there aren't any consequences since guards and Jarls won't know if you join the shadowy organization.
However, if you kill Astrid and complete "Destroy The Dark Brotherhood," then you'll be locked out of the Dark Brotherhood questline on your current save file. Without console commands or mods, there aren't any ways to change your mind later. Dark Brotherhood members like Nazir will also disappear forever once you kill them. Make sure to save before you kill Astrid as a precaution.
Rewards For Completing "With Friends Like These..."
If you join the Dark Brotherhood, you earn a few rewards upon completion of this quest. First, you'll become a member and unlock more missions. You get a set of Shrouded Armor and the Shrouded Outfit, but there are also a few other valuable items inside the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary lying around, including a Stone Of Barenziah inside Astrid's bedroom. If you continue further into the questline, you'll eventually gain ownership of the unique Shadowmere horse and earn 20,000 gold for fully finishing the Dark Brotherhood ques𒉰tline.
