-

- Meet Lord Harkon in Castle Vokihar.
-
If you are a Dawnguard:
- Meet Isran at Fort Dawnguard.
Speaking With Isran Or Harkon
Once you spoke with Harkon as a vampire, you will need to listen to his speech about ending the sun's tyranny. After this strange speech, he will tell you to locate a Moth Priest to read the Elder Scrolls.
Rather than speaking with Harkon, you will speak with Isran if you are a member of the Dawnguard. Here, he will talk with you and Serana. Serana will inform the two of you about Harkon's plans, and that he needs to be stopped. To do so, you will need to locate and rescue the Moth Priest as well.
Locating The Moth Priest
To find the priest, you can ask a carriage driver that can be found outside any city. He will have information on the priest's whereabouts, but you will need to either persuade or bribe him to gain it. If successful, the carriage driver will tell you that he took the priest to Dragon Bridge.
You can also speak with an innkeeper in any city, as well as Urag gro-Shub in the College of Winterhold. Both of these options will po൲int 𓆏you to Dragon Bridge as well.
Arriving At Dragon Bridge
Once you make it to Dragon Bridge, you will need to continue asking about the Moth Priest's locations. While doing so, you learn that the priest isn't there, but he recently crossed the bridge heading south.
Head south until you come to a wrecked carriage with a dead vampire. This vampire is carrying a note mentioning that the Moth Priest is in Forebears' Holdout, whi♕ch is located to the northeast of your current location.
If you can't find Forebears' Holdout, don't worry; all you need to do is follow the bloodstains on the ground.
Inside Forebears' Holdout
While inside the Holdout, you will encounter several enemies, including members of the Dawnguard or vampires depending on your alignment. Kill any monster, vampire, or Dawnguard that stands in your way and head towards the Moth Priest, named Dexion Evicus. ༺There will be a barrier around the priest that n💙eeds to be disabled.
Disabling The Barrier As A Vampire
The barrier can be deactivated by using a Weystone found on the corpse of Malkus, a dead orc vampire. Use this Weystone and disable the barrier.
Disabling The Barrier As A Dawnguard
When you enter the cave that Dexion is being held in, you can either kill all the nearby vampires or pickpocket the Weystone from Malkus. Use the Weystone to dis🍷able to the barrier around Dexion Evicus.
Meeting Dexion Evicus
Dexion is under a spell, so you will first need to fight him.
Using Vampire Seduction
Once he submits, calm him with Vampire's Seduction and then bite him. This is an unlockable vampire power, but if you don't have it yet, you will temporarily be able to use this power. After doing this, you will command him to return to Castle Volkihar.
Rescuing The Moth Priest
If you are a member of the Dawnguard, you will rescue Dexion after he submits. Speak with him for a bit, until he agrees to read the Elder Scroll. After this, he will head to Fort Dawnguard to meet Isran.
Finishing The Quest As A Vampire
Finally, it's time to make your way back to Castle Volkihar. Inside, you will find the usual group of vampires standing alongside Dexion Evicus. Talk with Harkon for a bit, and then order Dexion to read the Elder Scroll.
After the scroll has been read, the quest will end, and you will receive Chasing Echoes and Seeking Disclosure.
Finishing The Quest As A Dawnguard
Head back to Fort Dawnguard, where you will find Isran and Dexion. The priest will begin to read the Elder Scroll, and the quest will end. Once this is done, you will also receive Chasing Echoes and Seeking Disclosure.
