Introducing Village Fairs, a weekly event that takes place in the Finchwick neighborhood. Once the event starts, you can bring there your best veggies, fruits, pies, and animals for a chance to win prizes and, most importantly, bragging rights! So all competitive Simmers pay attention, here's everything you need to know about Village Fairs.

How To Join Village Fairs

Village Fairs sims 4

Before you can win any fair, there are some things you should know. First, Village Fairs happen every Saturday, starting at 3:30 pm and ending at 9:30 pm. But don't worry, you'll get a notification in the upper right corner of your game when the fair is about to start.

To confirm you're joining the fair, all you have to do is put in your sim's inventory the animal or product you want to compete with and go to the Finchwick neighborhood (near the Gnome's Arms) where the fair is taking place.

Once there, you'll see a few stalls for the contestants, click on the stall and choose the "Submit Entry" option. The🌸 best part is that if you have more than one sim in your household, ea🔯ch one can submit their own entry to the competition.

  • Don't get too attached to any product you enter to the competition as it will disappear once it's over; however, animals will safely return to your household inventory.

There are two different competitions per fair and you can decide to enter only one or both of them. When entering, make sure you're clicking the stall that matches the competition you want to participate in.

Village Fairs Editions

There are five different editions of the Village Fair to keep things interesting, so to properly prepare for each one, make sure to check your sim's calendar (you'll find it next to the sim's phone, aka on the lower-left corner).

Garden Fair

This fair is perfect for any sims with a green thumb since the judge will seek only the best quality fruit and veggies. You can enter whatever you want into the garden competition; it could be an apple, a pumpkin, or just a potato. As long as it is in top-notch conditions, it'll be a perfect entry.

If you're not sure which crop you should enter, take a good look at your options and choose the one with the better quality (just hover over the cursor to see the crop's quality). Another thing you should check for is the crop's rarity. The rarer, the better!

Besides the Garden Competition, you'll also have a chance to enter the Pie Competition. For this one, you should submit a high-quality pie made with the highest quality ingredients. Just remember pies will go bad after a few hours, so to make sure it gets in good conditions for the fair, put it away in the fridge until it's time to go to the competition.

  • The garden fair is only for normal-sized harvestable, so don't try to bring an oversized crop to this party.

Oversized Crop Fair

One of the cool features added in Cottage Living is the possibility of growing your own oversized crops, and what better way of knowing if you have the biggest Aubergine in town than by entering the Oversized Crop Competition.

When it comes to this competition, size does matter; so to increase your chances of winning, mak🌌e sure you enter a perfect quality oversized crop that also has a good size.

  • Remember, oversized crops take some time to grow, so if you want to enter this competition, you better plan ahead.

Besides the Oversized Crop Competition, you can also enter a Pie Competition. Jus🌌t like last time, a perfect quality pie made with high-quality ingredients has a good chance of winning.

Llama Fair

Llama Fair sims 4

Llamas are the unofficial mascot of the Sims franchise, so of course, they will get their time to shine during these fairs. During this one, you can enter the Llama Competition or the Wool Competition.

During the llama competition, you'll be judged based on your relationship with the animal as well as its mood and how clean it is. So before putting the llama in your inventory, make sure it is very happy, clean, well-fed, and has a high relationship with your sim.

Now, if you already have a happy llama in your household, it won't hurt to give it a trim to get a ball of perfect quality wool and enter the Wool Competition with it.

Cow Fair

However, if you like cows better than llamas, the Cow Fair is where you'll want to go. If you want to win the Cow Competition, make sure you put a very happy cow in your inventory with a good r🐟elationship with your sim.

Since cows produce milk, it is only logical there'll be a Milk Competition as well. In this one, you should submit milk that's fresh and has a perfect quality. So remember to make your cow happy before milking it to get better milk.

Chicken Fair

And finally, there's the Chicken Fair, so grab the hen or rooster of your choice and enter the Chicken Competition. Just like cows and llamas, the chicken you choose to enter with should be very happy and have a great relationship with your sims - So yeah, it's better to leave at home that evil chicken that tried to kill your sim that one time-.

If you want an extra challenge, then go ahead and join the Egg Competition as well. Just make sure the egg has perfect quality, and you'll be good to go.

  • If you want to increase the egg's quality, then keep around a golden chicken in the coop where the eggs are; the chicken will bless the egg and improve its quality.

How to Win Village Fairs

To summarize everything you know by now, to increase your chances of winning these compeꦚtitions, you should:

  • Enter animals that are very happy and have a good relationship with your sim. So before putting it in your inventory, spend some time with the creature.
  • Enter huge oversized crops. There are some extra steps you can do to make sure your crops have a fighting chance, like keeping a golden chicken around, asking bunnies and birds for their help, or using the "Encourage Crop Growth" option. Everything is fair game if you want the biggest crops.
  • Enter rare veggies and fruits. Besides quality (which should be perfect), look for crops that have a rare quality if you want to win the Garden Competitions.
  • Use high-quality ingredients to make your pies.
  • Check your product quality and make sure it's perfect.

There's also another way of making sure you get the upper hand in the competitions, bribing the judge. This interaction will cost §250, and if everything goes right, you'll have a big advantage during the competitions. However, if your offer gets declined you'll most likely lose.
