The Silent Hill games have always been known for having a myriad of endings in them, all of them seen as valid endings without always having the cl🔴earest d𝔉ivisions between what would constitute a good or bad ending. Much of it was left up to your personal interpretation.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网: Silent Hi🍬ll 2ജ: New Game Plus, Explained
Everyone loves a good New Game Plus, but Silent Hill 2 handles it a✨ bit differently than others.
This was especially true of Silent Hill 2 and the multiple endings you could achieve on your first run. After witnessing the intense themes of your original playthrough though, the game was more than willing to throw some comedic endings your way. All of these return in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Silent Hill 2 Remake, along some new additions b💝y Bloober Team. Here's how to get them al♔l.
Endings in Silent Hill 2 are tracked across your whole account rather than a single save file. This means you can easily reload an earlier save to fulfill the conditions of another endi🍌ng without having to replay the entire game.
How Many Endings Are There?
In total, Silent Hill 2 Remake has a grand total of eight different endings for you to achieve. Six of these are carried over from the original game and left relatively unchanged, incl♚uding in h💝ow you achieve them. Some slight alterations have been introduced though, so try not to rely on the original game's methods.
Two new endings have also been added by Bloober Team in this remake. These endings are far and away the most difficult to achieve, requiring multiple somewhat obscure steps across the len🌊gth of𝄹 the entire game.
Base game Endings
In the base game, there are three endings you can achieve. Rather than doing specific actions or gathering up certain items, these ended are influenced by a multitude of choices you make in🌳 the background. ꦫAs such, only one of these endings can be achieved per playthrough.
- Leave
- In Water
- Maria
New Game Plus Endings
After having finished the game a single time, you can replay it again in New Game Plus where new items and the like will become available. Many of these items allow you to unlock new endings. While one of them is a more serious ending, ꦇthe other two are on the comedic side. Which might be obvious when you see the names.
- Rebirth
- Dog
- UFO
Brand New Remake Endings
While the majority of the Remake hews fairly closes to the original game in most regards, Bloober has injected a splash of their own identity into the game, and with that comes a duo of new endings. They can also onl꧋y be seen in a New Game Plus file.
- Bliss
- Stillness
Leave Ending
The Leave ending is one of the three endings that can be achieved in your first playthrough of the game. It is measured against the In Water and Maria endings in the background, so while you can't actively check whi🌱ch ending you are going to get, you can perform certain action🐻s in the game that will influence you towards one ending.
- Avoid inspecting Mary's letter and Photo, as well as Angela's Knife.
- When entering the Employee Elevator in Lakeview, put away your Personal items with everything else.
- Try to keep your health high as much as possible, and heal as soon as you can.
- Avoid reading notes that mention feeling trapped in Silent Hill, death, suicide, and so on.
- Ignore Maria's directions, don't check on her in Brookhaven, etc.
- Don't listen to the full conversation in the long hallway leading to the final boss.
- Having completed either the Maria or In Water endings will each add a point towards the Leave ending.
The intent in the Leave ending is for James to accept his role in Mary's death and to decide that living is better than dying. As such, the actions you take throughout the game are to reinforce James wanting to leave Silent Hill and build a new life. Speeding through the game and ignoring most it🌃ems and collectibles is the easiest method to achieve this ending.
In Water Ending
The In Water Ending, like Leave and Maria, is one of the original three endings you can achieved, and the points you gain towards it are calculated in the background without you ever knowing. Here are some meth𒈔ods to help push you towards this 🍎ending over the other two.
- Continually take damage, and leave your health at a low level for as long as possible.
- Check Mary's Letter and Photo multiple times, as well as Angela's Knife.
- Bring your Personal items with you into the Employee Elevator in Lakeview Hotel.
- Inspect letters and notes about being trapped in Silent Hill, suicide, death and so on.
- Ignore the directions of Maria, don't speak with her at optional events, etc.
- Listen to the full conversation in the long hallway leading to the final boss.
- Having completed either the Maria or Leave endings will each add a point towards the In Water ending.
Accepting his part in Mary's death, James can't forgive himself and ends his life to rejoin her. Like the ending itself, the actions to achieve it are meant to reflect James' desperation to find Mary and hope that she is still alive somehow. Investing his time in Silent Hill and his own trauma only heightens his own pain until it is too much to bear. This is a likely first ending if you are playing the game thoroughly on Normal or higher combat difficulty.
Maria Ending
The final of the trio of original endings, the Maria ending is often seen as the hardest to achieve due to the limited time Maria is with you and making sure you've done enough positive actions when she is around you. For t🐬his ending, you'll want toไ do everything that Maria says, such as:
- Avoid inspecting Mary's letter and Photo, as well as Angela's Knife.
- When entering the Employee Elevator in Lakeview, put away your Personal items with everything else.
- Stay close to Maria at all times, opening any locked doors immediately when you enter an area without her.
- Don't point your flashlight in her face.
- Avoid her taking any damage, and try to limit James' as well.
- Talk to her at various optional points, such as at the Baldwin Mansion, after collecting Bracelets in Brookhaven, in the Labyrinth.
- Don't listen to the full conversation in the long hallway leading to the final boss.
- Having completed either the Leave or In Water endings will each add a point towards the Maria ending.
With this ending, James fails to acknowledge Mary whatsoever, giving in to the perfect version of her he crafted in Maria. As such, you fight Mary as the final boss instead (though the f𓆉ight is identical otherwise), with Maria resurrected once again for James to love and abuse the same way he did to the woman she's modeled after.
Where Maria wakes up, the Heaven's Night club, is a reference to how the Born From A Wish scenario from the original SIlent Hill 2 begins.
Rebirth Ending
This ending is one that can only be achieved in New Game Plus, and features references to the original Silent Hill as well as the greater lore in general. In it, James learns that there is a way to bring Mary back to life thr✃ough an old ritual, and that he needn't regret her death at all.
Acquiring this ending require collecting four Key Items throughout the game. All four are needed for the ending to tr♛igger and have no effect otherwise. Here's where to find each of them,
The very first time, the Book of Crimson Ceremony, can be found in the Silent Hill Graveyard. It is left resting on a grave in the north by the shorꦑe.
The second item, the White Chrism, can be found on the table at the entrance of the Baldwin Mansi🎶on. You can re▨ach this area immediately after opening the gate at Jack's Inn in Western South Vale.
The third item, the Obsidian Goblet, is found in the Historical Society when 💯you are in the Otherworld version of South Vale. It is on the wall opposite of the giant painting of Pyramid Head in the main hall. In your first playthrough, a painting of the Obsidian Goblet will have been handing here. It has now been removed to reveal the Obsidian Goblet itself.
The fourth and final item, the Book of Lost Memories, is found in the Lost and Found area of Lakeview Hotel. Make sure not to pick this item up unless you're certainไ you want the Reꩵbirth ending, as you will be locked into it over the other three base game endings as soon as you pick it up.
With all four items in hand, you simply have to complete the game as normal, with the Rebirth ending playing after you have de𓂃feated Maria. The cutscene before the fight begins is also unique, so make sure not to skip it.
With the four items for the Rebirth ending in hand, it will override every other ending except for the Stillness ending.
Dog Ending
This ending is one that is more on the absurd end, and has solidified itself as one of the most iconic of Silent Hill 2's endings, despite the obvious contrast with the game's themes. But who cares, you get to see a dog.
To achieve the dog ending, it's pretty simple. You need to collect two parts of a key, combine them, and then enter the Observation Deck on the third floor of the Lakeview Hotel. Nice and easy. Here's where to find each o🅰f the key pieces.
The first part of the key can be found in a pet shop directly beside Big Jay's in Eastern South Vale. In the base game, this building is locked, with🐼 the door wide open in New Game Plus.
The second part of the key can be found in Western South Vale after having opened the gate past Jack's Inn. It is found on the north side of Katz Street behind a newly-added fence you can walk through with a dog bone on it. Walk to the doghouse at the very back to pick up the second broken key part, and combine them to get the completed key.
Now all you have to do is open the Observation Room on the third floor of the Lakeview Hotel to s🐠ee the true mastermind behind the events that have been plaguing James all this time.
While James spoke Japanese in the original game's version of this ending, he speaks Polish in this o💫ne as a re𝔉ference to the development team being based in Poland.
UFO Ending
It may sound a bit out there to even mention the fact that Silent Hill 2 has a UFO ending, but it's not the only one. In fact, the majority 🔯of Silent Hill 𒀰games have a UFO ending, including the origina🐽l. Silent Hill 2 was just continuing the tradition.
The UFO ending is pretty easily missable and has a few steps involved, so follow along closely so you don't lose track. Make sure to wear headphones as a funky noise plays when you're near areas related𒀰 to unlocking the ending.
The first step is finding the Blue Gem, necessary to progress with the ending. It can be found north of Blue Jay's in Eastern South Vale, a bit further north of where the Broken Key Part is found. Ju🐟st break the window here to find it resting in a jewelry box.
Next, you need to climb to the roof of the Saul Street Apartments, in the southern section of Eastern South Vale. Once on the roof, your controller should start vibrating and a sound most extraterrestrial will play briefly. At this point, you can take out the Blue Gem by investigating it in your Key Items. It will start glowing, and an alien noise will play briefly. As long as it glows,♒ thi📖s area is complete.
The second location to scan is the Rosewater Park. As soon as you pass through the gate to enter the pier, that same vibration and sound as before will start playing. Whip out the Blue Gem a💮nd watch it glow to complete this location, and head on to the next.
The third location that the Blue Gem must be scanned is at the Lakeview Hotel. This one is quite hard to miss as the sound and vibration will start playing as soon as you step forward towards the map. Wh꧒ip out the Blue Gemܫ to scan it once more. Just one last scanning to go.
The final location that the Blue Gem must be scanned is in James' hotel room, room 312. As soon as you enter the room, the controller will start vibrating and that familiar noise play. Once you take out the Blue Gem to scan here, the ending will automatically activate so make sure you're committed. 🐈You're in for an e🎉nding most alien.
In the original game's version of this ending, the protagonist of Silent Hill 1, Harry Mason appears. This has been changed in the remake to feature the PS2 version of James instead.
Bliss Ending
The first of the two new endings added in the Remake, the Bliss ending's requirements can be met quite early on, but require a bit more active participation on your part to actually achieve. Here are the key stepꦐs.
When you enter Western South Vale for the first time, ignore Jack's Inn and run all the way to the north-eastern edge of this area, past the Historical Society. In the base game, there will have been a dead body with a note here. In New Game Plus, this same body will be here but with a note with a code on it - 1887
Head to Pete's Bowl-O-Rama and head to the front desk to find a new locked safe. Input the code, 1887, to find a Rusted Key and Cryptic Note inside. T🌊his note hints at the next location to go to, a place of care.
In Brookhaven, there is a small gazebo located in the garden in the north of the hospital. Climb into this Gazebo (and beware the Mannequin enemy) to find a small locked chest. Use the Rusted Key you got from Pete's Bowl-O-Rama to open it, revealing the White Claudia inside. It's description when viewed in your inventory says 'To be used at a special time, in a special place'. James and Mary's special place.
In the Lakeview Hotel, make your way to James' room with the videotape, room 312. Here, you are meant to watch the videotape as normal. However, make sure to drink the White Claudia first. During the videotape, the recording will change with James suddenly appearing in frame. Thro♕ugh the use of the White Claudia, he has injected himself into a part of history to live out a blissful me🌄mory, forever.
The item used to induce this ending, White Claudia. is a reference to a hallucinogenic plant mentioned in the wider Silent Hill lore.
Stillness Ending
The second of the new endings added by Bloober Team for the remake, the Stillness ending has some of the most obscure means of being viewed. Like the Bliss ending, it can only be achieved in a New Game Plꦯus file. Here's how🌺 to get it.
In a New Game Plus file, James can pick up 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a brand new weapon, the Chainsaw. This is required to get the Stillness ending. After picking it up, proceed until you've unlocked the gate past the Auto Parts shop. You will come across a faded green car on the road into Silent Hill, just before you get the map. Break all of the windows in this car with the Chainsaw to pick up the Key of Sorrow from the backseat of this car.
There's nothing else concrete you need to do to achieve the Stillness ending until you reach the Otherworld Lakeview hotel. Just before the battle against the two Pyramid Heads, you will find a new chest in the Manager's Officeꦯ. This requires using the Key of Sorrow, and then inputting a code. But what is this code?
The number you need to input is 314, in the direction left, right, left. We've not completely narrowed down where the middle digit is found yet, but throughout the game, you can find various notebooks with a single red number written on the side. In the Saul Street Apartments, you can find the number three on a notebook listing the tenants.
In Lakeview Hotel, you can enter a new room from the Check-In that leads to a notebook listing the inhabitants of the hotel, including James. Another number, four, is written on the side of this notebook. We can safely assume then that another notebook like these can be found elsewhere in the game speakin🦋g of inhabitants with the number one written on it.
After opening the safe, you will receive the Toluca Postcard. With this in hand, you cꦰan complete the game as normal.
Having the Toluca Postcard in your inventory will make the Stillness ending take precedence over every other ending, including the Rebirth ending.
This ending plays out much like the In Water ending, reaching the same ultimate conclusion. However, James refuses to read the full letter from Mary, instead imagining a figment of her that forgives him and asks him to return to her so they can b𝓰e together again, 🦄forever.
With that, you will have achieved every ending that Silent Hill 2 Remake has to offer. There are a myriad of trophies associated with these endings as well, the new endings excluded. Now 🌳James suffering can finally end.
