has partnered with the Association of British Scrabble Players (ABSP) for a c𒀰🎀harity tournament benefiting National Health Service charities.
Scrabble GO is the most downloaded word game and is especially prevalent in the UK. Scopely, the company behi🐟nd the popular word-building app, and the ABSP are teaming up to run the ‘Tournament of Champions,’ in which eight UK-based Scrabble champs will take each other on in head-t✃o-head Scrabble GO matches.
The tournament will have three knockout rounds, starting a📖t the quarter-final point. The winners will then have to face each other. Fans of the mobile game will be able to watch the gameplay and see top Scrabble experts’ opinions on strategies. Thes🎐e experts will provide the commentary, alongside scrutinizing every player’s every move. Commentary and expert analysis will be available on Scrabble GO’s Facebook page.
The prize pot for donation is worth a staggering £20,000🥃. That’s rou♑ghly $25,000. The First Placed Champion will scoop a £10,000 donati𝔉on, and the first and second runner-up win £3000 and £2000, respectively. The other participants w💟in £1000 each.
NHS Charities covers many different groups, such as the NHS Blood and Transplant Trust Fund and numerous local🎃 organizations. In all, there are over 230 charities, providing £1,000,000 per day to the NHS. The NHS is Great Britain’s largest healt⭕hcare provider, caring for ꧋around 90% of the population, at no charge.
News of the tournament comes a few weeks after #ClapforCarers ended. #ClapforCarers was a 🌠social media movement, designed to support NHS workers during lockdown restrictions. Every Thursday at 8 pm, Britain would clap from their gardens or balconies in support of their frontline workers. It is now goi๊ng to be an annual event. ‘Tournament of Champions’ allows for further much-needed support for the NHS and enables global Scrabble GO players to join in on the fun.
