How To Make Hard Leather
Before you start crafting yourself some Hard Leather, you'll need two structures inside your house: the Tannery and the Tanner's Kit. The former is an early-🍸game structure and requires Ash Logs, Animal Bones, and Coarse Thre𒐪ad to craft. However, the latter only unlocks when you get your hands on some Bronze Bar.

After getting this upgrade, make yourself some normal Leather using any Hide and some more Adhesive. Every two Leather and one Adhesive you place in the Tannery gives you one Hard Leather.
