While the game is handy enough to provide you with some cheap old tat, you can make far superior tools yourself.
To do this, you'll need a Forge, some raw materials, and a high-enough Forge skill. It'll take some time investment, but you'll be swinging around the most potent watering can the world has ever seen in no time.

All Farming Tool Recipes
To forge Farming Tools, you will need to purchase a Forge from either Palmo or Ryker at the furniture and renovations shop. Once placed, y🍎ou can use any recipes that you know to create upgrades to your startin🥂g tools.
Be aware that it is more difficult to attempt recipes that you don't know in-game yet. This means that if you use this guide to try making tools before learning the recipe with Recipe Bread, it will cost more RP than usual and might fail if your Forge Skill isn't high enough.
In the table below, some ingredients are listed in italics. This means that this ingredient calls for any item of a specific category. For example, if a recipe calls for Strings, you could use a Spider's Thread or a Vine and get the same result.
When a recipe calls for Stones, you can use Rocks, even though they are categorized𝓰 under 🐈[Other] in-game.

When To Upgrade Your Farming Tools
As the recipes for farming tools are very simple, it's quite easy to upgrade your set of tools and keep them up to date at the earliest possible points in the story. These are listed below:

Tier 1 Tools |
You will begin with these tools, as rewarded to you through the game's tutorial quests. |

Tier 2 Tools |
You can forge these tools as soon as you have access to Bronze: the earliest place you can get Bronze is by killing Slimes found in the Kelve Lava Region. For better chances, mine rocks in Kelve Lava Caves. |

Tier 3 Tools |
You can forge these tools as soon as you have access to Silver. The best place to mine for Silver is in the Gadeus Grasslands - check the areas to the north of the map. |

Tier 4 Tools |
You can forge these tools as soon as you have access to Gold. The earliest point you can get this is when the Forest of No Return opens up, but the Thundering Wastes dungeon has more opportunities to get it. |

Tier 5 Tools |
You can forge these tools as soon as you have access to Platinum. You'll need to wait until you have access to the Thundering Wastes. |
