If you're a fan of Viking history or Norse mythology, there's a good chance you'll be choosing Sif as your starter character in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song. She's a Valhallan warrior from the Shiverlands in the south of the world of Mardias, and she's a tough cookie in a fight.
Every starting character has different challenges to contend with, and Sif happens to have one of the more involved starting quests thanks to how deft you'll have to be at avoiding extraneous battles and taking care of difficult fights. We have all the info you'll need, though.
Overview: Sif
While Sif begins the game alone, there is no reason not to consider the Valhallan Warrior that you can recruit from Gato's Village as part of her retinue - it's not advisable to take on her scenario without recruiting him first, after all. In addition, halfway through Sif's scenario, you'll pick up Albert, another main character.

- Both Sif and the generic Valhallan Warrior start out with the same skillset in the same class, with Sif having the better stats of the two, including a far more reasonable LP count at 12 compared to the warrior's four. Really, the latter is only there to bulk out the party, to begin with.
- Sif can take the Valhallan Warrior class all the way through the game without any trouble, but it might be worth noting that she's a good candidate for the Legendary Warrior class.
- Albert is a great character to have along for the ride. He starts out with the defensively-geared Frontier Guard class which has the great Foil weapon class as a focus, as well as proficiency in Shields. He also has some training in Cosmology, which is neat and lets him transition into Imperial Knight easily and cheaply. While keeping the Valhallan Warrior around long-term isn't really sustainable, Albert is a great companion.
Clearing The Caves
When you get control of Sif, explore Gato's Village until you enter Gato's hut. Speak to him to learn your task - clearing out the three caverns of monsters. That's quite a hefty task, so go procure some backup.
Go to the pub and talk to the Valhallan Warrior on the left to recruit him. Then, talk to the Minstrel and let him tell you his story. Once you've heard the story, leave the pub and re-enter - talk to the Minstrel again and let him play you songs until he forces his way into your party. He's a very useful person to have around at this juncture.
For some final party tweaks, be sure to equip the Smoke Bomb Pouch and the First-Aid Kit to Sif, these will be very helpful in the coming trial💦s.
Leave Gato's Village and you'll be in Shiverland. Try to avoid all encounters with monsters here - finishing too many battles will lead to your Event Rank growing too much, which means you'll be blocked from taking on a few 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:pretty lucrative quests once the world opens up. If you get caught in a battle, either use a Smoke Bomb to escape or use Retreat. Retreat costs LP to use, so make sure you use it primarily with the Minstrel - he has a lot of LP, is quite bulky to begin with, and can be easily re-recruitꦗed if he dies at any p🌟ub.
The caves you have to clear out are the same ones from Albert's scenario if you've played that. The one on the east is the easiest one to take on first - head there first by going to the arrow just underneath Gato's Village. Inside, you'll find a solitary monster standing still - these stationary monsters are the only ones you have to kill to complete this quest, don't bother trying to eradicate every monster in every cave.
Take on the west cave second - this is the westernmost arrow in the middle of the map. There are some monsters to avoid here - play on the lowest speed setting for better maneuverability. Save before you approach the stationary flying monster - getting close w🌠ill trigger the battle automatically.
These first two battles can be tricky as there are high-damage attacks flying about. Use your First-aid Kit and Balm on any downed allies, and focus on using Two-handed Sword attacks, hoping that Sif learns Smash. Once Sif learns Smash, only use this to eradicate enemies quite effectively. Don't worry about DP.
Once you've cleared out the east and west caves, head back to Gato's Village to rest at the inn and get your LP and DP back.
The third cave, the south cave, is further away than the other caves. Head all the way to the bottom of the Shiverlands map and take the bottommost red arrow on the right. You'll end up in a short stretch of snowy path - leave through the north exit and then, on the next screen, take the left at the intersection to reach the cave.♐ This cave has a ton of monsters in it, so be extra careful about weaving through them to reach the miniboss here.
Take out the Peggy Chief first, as it has the most brutal attacks. Use any damage-focused skills that you may have glimmered and hope for a Combo attack. When the battle is over, loot the chests (the Wing Amulet makes a good accessory for Sif!) and head back to Gato's Village.
Clearing The Caves... Again
Talk to Gato to get your reward, and then leave his hut. Then, talk to the child at the bottom of the slope here and he'll tell you of a shipwreck.
Leave the village again and then watch the following cutscenes. Head back into Gato's house and talk to the boy on the bed - this is Albert. Gato informs you that the caves are infested again, and it's up to you once more to take care of them. Albert will offer his help - take it!
This quest is almost exactly the same as the last one. Head to the three cavesꦚ in the same order and take out the slightly stronger monsters at the end of each. The south cave is actually a bit longer than it was earlier, and has the hardest miniboss by far now.
As long as Sif, Albert, and the Minstrel have each glimmered an attack skill in previous fights, the rematch against the Peggy Chief shouldn't be too hard. Just make sure your DP is recovered and go all out with offensive moves. If they haven't all acquired good skills (Smash and Impact Slash, specifically), you may have to be more conservative in yo🎉ur strategy.
With all three caves cleared yet again, it's time to head back to the village. Speak to Gato for another bunch of rewards and a hint as to your next destination: Eugenstadt, which is now accessible from the southern exit from the Shiverlands. As you try to leave, you'll also be given the Dragon's Eye, one of Sif's heirlooms, and a great Ring to equip her with.
The Next Steps
As Albert and Sif's stories are so entwined, you can use the Next Steps section of our guide for Albert's scenario with almost no changes - just be aware that you won't get a reward for getting to Crystal City and meeting up with Neidhart.
Note that, especially if you're playing on Normal Event Rank growth, you may have already hit Event Rank 3 and will not be able to take on Un𝐆settꦜling Settlements.
