Not only is Wagnas a skilled magician who has some extremely powerful magical attacks that range from a firꦏe spell that hits your entire party to a potent light magiﷺc spell that will inflict heavy damage to a cluster of party members. His magic is sure to make an unprepared party miserable. This guide will tell you everything you need to know in order to get to Wagnas as well as break down the fight itself for you.

The Battle Of Castle Hakuro

Once Castle Hakuro appears, you will be ready to take on Wagnas, the leader of the seven. Well, at least you'll be ready to confront him. Castle Hakuro appeared after I completed the Sekishusai, the Loyal Retainer quest. After a time shift, The Battle of Castle Hakuro quest appeared. I suspect that is how you unlock this dungeon.

Once you enter Castle Hakuro, take a left, go through the gate, and head up the stairs. Take a right out the door, and head straight down the path until you see a door to a battlement. E🅘nter that door, and you will be in a massive room. On the other end of it, there is a door; head through that door - you will need to de💦ke around the guards posted on either side of it, of course.

Now, head down the nearby stairs, a♈nd run straight south to the next doorway. From here, simply head down the stairs, and you will be at the save point, and just about ready to face off against the dung🉐eon's boss: the Black Legion.

Black Legion Boss Fight

This fight is against the Black Legion as well as two Mystics. The Rapier's Marionette technique is stunningly effective in this battle. Additionally, while the Black Legion is resistant to most things, he can be disrupted by Paralyze.

Watch out for the Mystics, as they are capable of using potent Martial Arts attacks, and they hit exceedingly hard. I found that they used these far more often when the Black Legion was dead, so I would strongly recommend taking them out first. However, if you are constantly stealing their turns with the Marionette technique, this battle won't pose too much of a challenge.

Once you have defeated the Black Legion boss, Wagnas will s💯how himself and then immediately flee to his floatin🍌g Castle. Which means you are going to need to find a way up there.

Reaching The Flying Castle

Now, we'll need to get up to Wagnas in his Floating Castle🏅. There are two ways to do this, with Hiraga's flying machine, or by having an Iris fly you up. The Iris method doesn't make sense if you haven't already unlocked them, as it is a lengthy quest that will see you travel around the world. So, we'll cover the Hiraga method instead. The first thing you'll need to do is to head to Liangshan and Yuyan. Talk to the citizens with the quest marker there.

After you've talked to the people of Liangshan and Yuyan, head to Somon and speak to Hiraga. He'll have a new invention that will be perfect for this task. Now, simply 💙h🐬ead to Castle Chonto, and you will be able to use the Windwaker to get to the Floating Castle above. But before you head to the castle, you'll want to make sure your party build is in order, as you won't be able to leave once you arrive there.

If you 𒈔haven't paid Hiraga to build the Leon Bridge yet, then you will need to do that first. Unfortunately, that does mean coughing uཧp 1,000,000 Crowns.

Preparing Your Party For Wagnas

The Fire Wall spell is extremely helpful when fighting Wagnas, as it shuts down his Firestorm attack. Make sure you have it equipped your fastest party member. In order to get the Fire Wall spell, you'll need to find the Book of Fire & Earth I in the Steppe. The chest that holds the book is next to two ladders (depicted on the map), near the center of this area. The spell will need to be researched, so you will need to do some🌺thing to kill time in between getting it and confronting𒉰 Wagnas, but having it will make your life so much easier, so I'd recommend doing just that.

Additionally, you will want as many attacks that have the water element as possible, as there will be a fire layline. The character with the Firewall spell won't be able to have water magic equipped, but they can still have techniques that utilize the water element equipped. The great sword has a bunch of these, of course. Having characters with fire immunity is super helpful as well, so having a Salamander in your party is a smart choice. Having the Fire Ring on hand will, similarly, make your life easier. As for weapons, you'll want to have characters who are proficient with swords, spears, axes, and bows.

If you bring a character with a bow, equip the Falling Phoenix technique if you have it. Wagnas is a flying creature, so it 🌸wil𓃲l do massive damage.

Having attacks that hit multiple enemies is extremely useful for taking out the Animas in the second phase of the battle, especially if those attacks involve the water element. Barrage is a great bow-based attack for hitting multiple foes, and it has unite attacks with Diamond Dust, which is a great ice spell for hitting all enemies on the battlefield.

Battle Of The Floating Castle

Head straight and go up the𝔉 stairs, dodge the living jelly, and head out the door. You will now 💙be on the outside path, dodge the dragons and head to the door on the other side. Now, follow the hallway, dodging slimes as you do.

On your right there will be a chest with a Vo🦹rpal Sword. Watch out, you'll need to fight a🅰 mimic to get it.

Keep heading down this hallway, up the stairs, and leave through the door, and you'll be back outside. Take a right and you'll climb a set of stairs. Taking a left outside the door will take you to chestꦗ with Gold Ore inside. Hoౠok around, head through the doors, and you will be in a massive hall, head into the main room and take a left to climb the spiral stairs.

When you climb the stairs, if you head down the spiral steps in the bottom-right corner, you will be able to get two chests from the room down below. There is another chest in the bottom-left cor𝔉ner. T⭕he spiral staircase in the north section will lead to the 3rd floor. The doors on this floor lead to the balcony, where there is a treasure chest with crowns in it. On the next floor, you will leave through a door and be outside again.

There is a massive dragon out here, you don't have to fight them, of course. However, if you choose to, know that they can be stunned. Use that to steal their turns. Additionally, if you have the Fire Wall spell for Wagnas, that will also nullify this dragon's big attack. From 🌠here, go through the doors, and head up the stairs. Yoꦆu'll find Wagnas waiting for you above.

Before you confront Wagnas, make sure to change your equipment. He doesn't attack you with physical attacks, he only uses magic, so swap out your armor and get your magic defense as high as possible.

The Wagnas Boss Battle

The fight with Wagnas has three phases...

• The first phase of the fight you will simply need to contend with Wagnas and his repertoire of magical spells.
• The second phase will introduce Wagnas' big attack: Firestorm. It will also see him summon Blue and Red Animas to fight alongside him.
• The third phase Wagnas will start using his powerful light magic spell: Sunray.

You are going to spend your time pounding Wagnas with your most powerful great sword, spear, axe, and bow attacks. Once you have pushed him hard enough that he enters into his second form, you are going to start nullifying his Firestorm spell with your own Fire Wall spell.

You will want to hit Wagnas with a steady stream of water spells any time his fire layline is active, as this will heal him a massive amount at t🌟he end of every round. His fire layline willꦑ activate after every use of the Firestorm spell.

The Firewall spell will wear off after the round it was cast on ends, which means that if you have a character who acts last cast the spell it will not be active once the next round begins. So, be extra mindful of turn order.

Wagnas will now start summoning Animas to assist him. The Red Anima will sacrifice themselves to attack one ally, and the Blue Anima will sacrifice themselves to attack a cluster of your allies. Soꦦ, try to take them out before they have a chance to use their sacrificial attacks with techniques that hit groups. If you aren't able to take all of them out, focus on removing the Blue Anima over the Red Anima.

Saving a Unite Attack for when Wagnas summons the Animas is a smart play, especially if you have sꦉome great Unite Attacks that will hit multiple foes.

During the final section of the battle, Wagnas will keep doing all the same things that he did in the first two stages, but he'll not start using the Sunray spell. So, some form of light magic mitigation isn't a bad idea. Light Wall is a solid answer if you have nothing else. Thankfully, by the⛄ time Wagnas is using the Sunray attack, he will be pretty severely injured. Just keep pressing, and he will soon fall.

If you made a terrible decision when building your party, and fear that you aren't able to beat Wagnas, you can tell him that you were "just🦂 leaving" when you first confront him, and he will teleport you away from the castle, which will allow you to reconfigure your party.
