No other console developer is associated with RPGs like Sony is. Nearly every third🌃-party Japanese developer has produced classics for PlayStations.
One such choice deals with the volcano on Comroon Island, which threatens to decimate the island and its inhabitants. Unluckily for you, t🌄here are significant pros and cons to dealing with and ignoring this issue, and neither process is very simple.
How To Reach Comroon Island
The quests that you'll need to complete before recruiting the Salamanders to your cause (or unlocking the powers of dark magic) are all available on Comroon Island. There are multiple ways to reach this location:
-
From the town of Hofah, which is unlocked through the Cumberland quests, take the sailor up on his offer to let you sail through the Comroon Strait. This will require an Emperor with 'seafaring' experience.
- Your Emperor must be of the Corsair class to do this.
- Alternatively, you can simply sail over from the town of Mowlie, which is reached by heading east over the continent - through the Steppe, the Savannah, and then north through Salamat.
When you land on Comroon Island for the first time, you'll be in Tsukijima. Here, you can learn about the various quests that you can undertake on the island. Most of these deal with the volcan🍃o and are the focus of this guide, but there is also the Diviner class, who you can recruit to your side.
Talk to everyone with a quest marker in Tsukijima to unlock the requisite locations you'll need fꩲor this adventure: Calming the Volcano.
How To Complete Calming The Volcano
This quest will recommend that you go to the village of Zemio, which is on the north side of the volcano. A quick visit here will teach you that you'll need a stone boat to be able to sail over the lava to reach the village. This is ac✱cessible now.
How To Get A Stone Boat
The stone boat you need is located in th𒀰e Amazon Village. To reach this l⛎ocation:
- Sail from Tsukijima to Mowlie, and then exit to the south. This will unlock Salamat.
- In Salamat, head to the south edge of the jungle. The south-eastern corner of the map contains the exit that leads to the Amazon Village.
- You'll need to begin the quest that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:unlocks the Amazon class before you can reach the stone boat, but once you can, examine the pile of stone boats and choose to order your soldiers to take one.
You'll need the stone boat eventually, but not right away. Visit Zemio if you want (especially if you've picked up the The Iris and the Minstrel que🍸st), but your next destination is th༺e Seer's Citadel on the west side of the island.
Seer's Citadel Walkthrough
This area is something of a puzzle. Outside, you can fight some monsters and also pick up a Hero Memory by following the glowing trail, but inside, yo✃u'll need to follow some specific directions.
In the first room of the citadel, you'll be confronted with many bookcases, a large sigil at the back of the room with three segment🍌s and a statue that holds a red crystal.
Interacting with the statue will turn ♎the crystal blue, which light up one of the sigil's segments.
The bookcases in the northeast of the room can be squeezed through along the eastern wall. Interact with the gri๊ffin statue to light up a second sigil segment.
The third statue to interact with is the eagle statue on top of the bookcase on the west side of the room. You'll need to platform over the tops of the bookcases, arouꦇnd the very ta⛦ll ones in the centre of the room, to reach it.
Travel through the door underneath the sigil, which is now unlocked. Inside this room, speak to the Seer, and you'll ask ab🌜out the volcano. Threatening him might lead to a battle based on your actions in Zemio, but it's not worth the worry - ask nicely and then agree to cooperate. The Seer will give you an Ice Seed and tell you of Mt. Comroon.
♍With this acquired, we can now head to Mt. Comroon and calm the volcano!
Mt. Comroon Walkthrough
This area is very linear, with very minor diversions for treasure throughout. The goal here is very simple - just make your way to the top of the volcano, which is a rather short trip, and then approach the lava flow that will have a quest marker at ꦆthis point. Decide to get it over wiꦗth, and you'll throw the Ice Seed into the lava, freezing it.
Despite the conspicuous recovery p🎃oint, there is no boss here at this ⛄point of the game.
After the lava is frozen, you'll be able to walk across it and nab the nearby chest, which contains the Flame Ring, a useful item for facing any Pyrology user. There is also a frozen pool of lava near the start of the area with a revealed chest that contains three Gold Ore.
When you're ready, return to Tsukijima and speak to the mayor to complete the quest. This will add Comroon to the empire, increasi♛ng youꦑr income.
This is not the end of events here on C꧑omroon, however - in a few generations, the volcano will start making trouble again. It is then that we can take the final steps to recruit the Salamander class.
The Volcano's Eruption
A few generations after completing Calming The Volcano (or as soon as you reach the Final Emperor), you'll be alerted by a minister that Mr. Comroon is threatening to erupt. There are a few ꧂ways to deal wiꦬth this, and how you act here will depend on what you want from the quest.
- You can head straight for the island and deal with the volcano, stopping it from erupting. This is what you'll need to do to get the Salamander class.
- You can instead let the volcano erupt, which will happen after a short passage of time (by completing quests, going through a succession event, or fighting too many battles away from the island). This bars you from recruiting Salamanders, but does let you get dark magic.
Completing The Volcano's Eruption
Assuming you want to complete this quest as normal and do the right thing, immediately head to Tsukijima when you learn of the volcano's imminent eruption. Talk to all the marked people here, ending with the mayor, who will direct you towards Zemio.
This begins a back-and-forth that involves talking to the mayor of Tsukijima and the leader of the Salamanders in Zemio. Throughout this sequence, you'll have the people of Tsukijima evacuate and pledge to protect the Salamande𓆉rs of Z🔴emio by travelling up Mt. Comroon and destroying the stone that blocks the magma at the top.
To continue, do as you pledged: enter Mt. Comroon and travel up to the top of the area, as you did when you delivered the Ice Seed here. Only, this time, it's a good idea to save and heal up your BP, as you'll face a♌ boss fight when you appr𝕴oach the quest marker.
It is imperative that you head directly to Mt. Comroon after pledging your help to the Salamanders. Heading anywhere else will cause the eruption of Mt. Comroon and fail the quest.
How To Destroy The Stone
This fight is a true trial of endurance. You'll begin the fight against three Hellhounds, and you might not even notice the fact that the massive steaming stone behind them is targetable - it is, in fact, the true🎉 boss here.
Defeating the Hellhounds during this battle will only net you a temporary reprieve. The Stone will summon more hound-type enemies as the battle progress📖es, sℱo it's important to balance damaging the Stone and thinning out the herd of evil dogs.
As you might expect, bringing powerful Hydrology will be very useful in this fight, as the Hellhounds and the Stone are weak to it. Water Blast II is key here, as it inflicts a debuff to ဣphysical def🔯ence, which should help a decent chunk.
The stone will use Quake at the end of every round during this fight, dealing fire damage to your entire party. Be sure to have multiple sources of healing with you, as this damage can rack up quite quickly.
Before dealing the final blow to the Stone, make sure your party is healed up! The Stone will end the♎ fight with an explosion attack, dealing damage to the entire team. You don't want to lose LP unnecessarily, thanks to being low on health at this point!
Upon your victory, you can head back to Zemio and return to the Salamander leader to complete the quest, which will net you the Salamander class for recruitment. It is at this point that you will need the st♏one boat we directed you to fetch earlier in this guide.
Ignoring The Volcano's Eruption
It iꦺs first important to highlight that this course of action has the following consequences:
- No Salamander recruits.
- Zemio and Tsukijima will be permanently devoid of life.
- You will lose the income from having Comroon Island in the Empire.
That said, it's quite easy to access this route. The easiest way to follow the quest directions listed above up until the point you pledge your help to the Salamanders and receive a weapon from the chief. At this point, enter Tsukijima - you will be treated to a cutscene of Mt. Comroon erupting and🎶 gain access to a whole new area: the Emergꦚed Island.
Emerged Island Walkthrough
The Emerged Island is basically a linear dungeon that has you exploring some ruins. This is a simple, linear dungeon with one quirk: locked doors that require🃏 you to flip a switch to open.
There are three locked doors in this area:
- The first locked door has a switch to open it very close, in a recess to the door's right.
- The second locked door requires you to head west to find the switch a little while away.
- The third locked door is underground, and requires you to find a hole in the wall in the northwesterly sideroom to find the switch.
After the third 💮door, the path♌ to the end of the dungeon is simple, if monster-infested.
When you reach the save point and BP recovery point, do not ignore them - there are two bosses at the en🍌d of this quest, and they are very d🐬ifficult.
How To Beat The Dullahan
The first boss here is against a Dullahan and two Blood Suckers. This fight will play out like a regular fight against tough 𒁃enemies, but 🍌with one exception: the Dullahan's propensity for status ailments.
The Dullahan will use status ailment abilities on most turns, including the very vicious Petrification Gaze. If you have the Gaze evasion tech, it's incredibly important to equip this to your entire party. Otherwise, the fight is a race to destroy th🥀e Dullahan before the entire party gets petrified.
Don't rely on the Darkstone Ring for Petri🎉fication protection - it doesn't work like thatꦺ!
The Dullahan can also inflict Sleep, Paralysis, and Poison, making this a very tough fight to ⛦stay active through. This is a fight where pre-charging your Overdrive gauge is very handy.
Upon defeating the Dullahan and his goons, you won't get a break before the next🍌 fight.
How To Beat The Sorcerer
This fight is, thankfully, a bit kinder than the previous one. Here, you're up against the Sorcerer and some weak Wingers, which are easily taken out.
The Sorcerer will use multiple party-wide offensive spells per turn, so it's very important to have multiple healers here.
Our strategy involved one dedicated healer, and two offensive units who could switch to powerful healing spells whenever needed. The remaining chara𝕴cters would be dedicated to attacking.
As long as you can keep your party healthy, you'll find this fight a breeze. The Sorcerer has a high damage output, but he 🍰also has rather low health for🐎 a late-game boss.
After winning this fight, you'll obtain Poseidon's Spear, the Sage Rod, the Grimoire of Eld, and a bunch of Crowns. The Grimoire allows you to use Umbrology (dark magic) and also l🐻ets you recruit the Diviner class.
Should You Stop The Volcano Or Let It Erupt?
This is the question, isn't it? Let's look at 🎃the pros and cons of stopping the eruption.

At the end of the day, this choice is totally up to you and your playstyle, and whether you value moral goodness and Salamanders over the more useful rewards of the eruption path.
It is worth noting that you will keep the Grimoire of Eld, which you use to🌸 unlock Umbrꦯology, as a key item, even if handed to the Diviner to recruit him.
