Fishing is one of the greatest parts of a sea-based game like Roblox Arcane Odyssey. The game starts with you being stranded on a random island, and you slowly learn the secrets of the War Seas as you progress in the main story. You're introduced to Fishing quite early in the game as well.
The Bronze Sea is filled with action and enemies who want to defeat you, but fishing serves as a moment of peace and quiet. You'll also get a ton of Galleons when you sell your fish to merchants in the game, which makes the process worth it.
How To Find A Fishing Rod
After talking to the NPC on the starter island, the game will ask you to use the Rowboat to get to Redwake. This is the harbor that contains the first part of the main story, and it'll also give you the first Fishing Rod. Once you've saved the town from the pirates, the chief will ask you to help the people of the harbor.
At this point, you can head over to the location marked in the picture above, and you'll find an NPC called Audbjorg near the water. This NPC will have a green question mark on top, and they'll give you a Fishing Rod and some bait when you talk to them. You'll also get a quest to catch five fish.
You can get better Fishing Rods from random Sailor Chests scattered all across the map. Every island has multiple chest spawning locations, and there's a chance of the Sailor Chest spawning in these areas. Once you get a better Rod, you can sell the old one for some Ga♊lleon🍬s.
How To Fish In Arcane Odyssey
To fish in Arcane Odyssey, you only need two items: A fishing Rod and Bait. Audbjorg will give you some🌸 Bait when you talk to her for the first time, but you can also get them in the following ways:
- As mentioned above, Sailor Chests are scattered all over the map in the game. There's a high chance of finding Cannonballs and Bait in these chests. You'll get more than enough Bait if you constantly open chests as you go through an area.
- You can also buy Bait at Fishmonger merchants present on different islands. You'll find these merchants at any port, but they won't talk to you if you have a Bounty. People with Bounty have to find Criminal Fishmongers to get Bait, and you can find them on Whitesummit island.
Once you have both items, you can put the Fishing Rod in the hot bar at the bottom and equip it in your hands. You can cast the Rod into the water and wait for fish to catch the bait. When that happens, you'll see a giant Exclamation Mark (!) on top of your head, and the hook will go underwater.
Sometimes, the fish that gets caught will be big enough to appear at the top and you can see its head sticking out of the water, which makes it even more obvious.
Repeatedly press the button you used for casting the rod once you see the signs mentioned above, and the fish will go🥃 into your inventory after a few clicks. The number of presses required depe♕nds on the rarity of the fish caught. Moreover, sometimes you might see the fish lying near the area you were fishing on.
You can ignore this since the actual fish will already be in your inventory. These fish can be sold to any merchant in the game since they'll sell for the same price.
Tips For Fishing In Arcane Odyssey
The fishing mechanic in the game is quite straightforward, but there are a few things that can make it a lot more interesting. Moreover, a few tips can also make the job ea💃sier for yꦕou:
- If you go to the main menu, you'll see a tab called "Fish" that'll contain information on every fish in the game, but they'll be grayed out. You can still read the location where you can find that fish by hovering over them. Once you catch a particular fish once, it'll not be grayed out anymore.
- Some fish can only be found in warm or cold ponds and lakes, but you can't find these on every island. If an island has a pond, you'll see it marked with blue when you look at the island on the mini-map. Moreover, there are fish that can only be caught at a certain time of the day.
- You can freely move around or turn when your Fishing Rod is in the water, but the line will snap if any object comes in between. This includes your body if you turn around too much.
- If you want to fish while you're on your boat, you'll have to stop moving. If you cast your rod while the ship is moving, it'll just keep stretching until it breaks.
- It's recommended to get the fishing quests whenever you plan to perform this activity. One of the best areas to get a fishing quest is the Sailor's Lodge island. You'll have to catch one Anglerfish in this quest, and it gives you a ton of Galleons. Though Anglerfish is quite a rare find.
- The fishes rot after 24 real-time hours of catching them, and you'll only be able to sell it for one Galleon if they rot. It's recommended to sell all your fish before logging out of the game. Moreover, the price shown on the fish in your inventory is far more than its actual selling price.
