Rise Of The Ronin Review
Rise of the Ronin first popped onto our screens on M❀arch 22 in 2024 and its reviews were an overall mixed bag, but it seemed to be primarily positive. Over at the usual haunts, we have a score of seven out of ten from IGN, two point eight out of five from Mashable, and an overall audience rating of three point seven out of five.
If we take a step back and look at the wider critic appraisals over on Metacritic we see a similar fairly positive result with an overall score of 76 from 126 Critics. Plus, an audience rating of eight point eight from a base of 2,456 average users. So it’s doing pretty well with many praising the open world, the variability of builds,𒈔 and a few remarking that it gives the same feeling of Ghost of Tsushima, but better.
Which is quite a bold comparison considering how beloved Ghost of Tsushima became after its▨ launch.

Overall, Joe is positive about Rise Of The Ronin, though he does mention that it doesn't quite stick the landing at times. Like the expansive open world abundance of side objectives, and extra distractions that are all mostly unique and fun in their own way.

There are also a lot of ideas being thrown together in the game and they don’t always gel or deliver particularly impactfully like other games manage.
The boss fights are a particular sticking point as there's not a lot of variety other than dudes in armor since we're sticking to a non-fantasy setting.
But Joe came away saying that the game really shines when 🐻you’re out exploring on your own. So if you enjoyed the wide brutal expanse of Elden Ring, you’ll feel right at home with Rise Of T🍨he Ronin.
How Long Does It Take To Beat?
If you’re looking for a good time sink then Rise Of The Ronin has a decent amount of meat to chew into. How Long To Beat has it clocking in at 22 and a half hours to power through the main story, with a rather respectable 53 hours for the main story and all the side content. So you're getting a good amount of gameplay.
