We don't have much to go on right now🐻, but the Hollywood Reporter's sources describe it as a "revamp" that will stay true to the "initial games", going back to the series' "horror roots". With this in mind, it sounds like we can expect the adaptation to cover the first Resident Evil game, or at least one of the ꦺfirst few releases.
This would be the fourth take on a live-action Resident Evil universe. The first gave us six films, helmed by Paul W. S. Anderson and starring Milla Jovovich.
