How To Reach The Mural Shrine
When the chapter begins, climb the stairs in front of you. During Leon's conversation with Hunnigan, smash the barrel at the top of the stairs. When they finish talking, enter the next room. Check the cupboard on the left for some ammo, then leave through the back door.Upon going outside, take the path to the right to get some ammo, then return to the shack and take the leftmost path to find a barrel with some more goods. Stick to the left side of the trail to find a Red Herb as well. When you find a tunnel, crouch to enter. On the other side, you'll have your first encounter with a fully-matured Plaga parasite. The easiest way to kill it is to throw a Flash Grenade; otherwise, use the shotgun for maximum damage in the confined quarters of the tunnel. After destroying the Plaga, a Ganado will attack from around the corner. Another Plaga will burst forth from him after he's killed, so be ready!Walk past the bloody altar and up the stairs beyond to find a cave. At the back is a shrine, where the key to the church is locked behind a mechanism. Go into the room on the right and examine the mural of the lake to find the locations of the items that you need.Turn right from the mural and follow the tunnel to get back outside. Open the chest to the right to get an Old Wayshrine Key, and read the Merchant Request po💟sted on the wall just to the left of the bridge. The Wayshrine Key unlocks the Wayshrines scattered throughout the village, revealing the treas⛎ures inside each!
How To Get The Apostate's Head
At the other end of the bridge is a dock with a motorboat that you can use to navigate the lake. Going straight ahead and slightly to the left will bring you back to the Merchant's hideout, where several new items - including the TMP submachine gun - are available. If you haven't already, now is a great time to buy the Flash Grenade crafting recipe.
Maneuvering the boat over floating barrels w♐ill yield one hundred peseꦰtas each!
Buy and sell whatever you need at the Merchant's, then hop back in the boat and take a right. You'll shortly see a dock on your left for the Large Cave Shrine. Due to a locked door, there's only one path forward for now. Be ready to fight your way through several Ganados, many of whom will spawn Plagas. Take advantage of the enemies at the back using Molotovs and dynamite to create explosions that will heavily damage the parasites without wasting too much of your ammo.
If you're low on supplies or are having trouble winning the fight here, move on to the next section and come back afterward - you'll have more ammo and healing items.
When the enemies are cleared, be sure to shoot the cask hanging over the bridge in the middle of the shrine. It contains a jewel you can sell later.
At the back of the cave is a pedestal with several buttons. You can only press three at a time. Look around the cave for glyphs painted in yellow on the walls, and press to corresponding buttons. The correct buttons (pressed in any sequence) are the bottom, upper-left, and upper-right. The pedestal opens the door to the right; go inside and collect the Apostate's Head, then return to the boat. Five more Ganados will have arrived as reinforcements, so be ready for more fighting!
How To Get The Blasphemer's Head
Back at the boat, go left to find a small docking area under the quarry. Open the Wayshrine to receive a Splendid Bangle, then take a look at the large block of granite that you can climb on behind you. Directly above it is a cask containing an Alexandrite that you can slot into the Bangle to increase its value. Try standing near the boat to get a good firing angle for bringing the cask down. When you're ready, take the tunnel in either direction out to the lake. Your first stop should be the wrecked boat in the middle. There are two chests onboard - one with a valuable Alexandrite, and another on the foredeck with the Red9 pistol. Next, go to the dock on the eastern shore of the lake, under the castle. You'll find several chickens here; collect the eggs they've laid for quick healing, then check behind the bush at the back of the yard for the Golden Egg that the Merchant requested.Get back in the boat and go north along the short, entering the cave under the castle indicated by a fire. Inside is another pedestal with the same symbols as before. There are no enemies this time, but you'll need to stand in exactly the right spot on top of the shrine to get the perspective required to see the symbols painted on the walls. The correct buttons are left, lower-left, and lower-right. When the shrine door opens, collect the Blasphemer's Head inside, as well as the third Hexagon Piece in the box next to the door, then climb the ladder to the right of the statue to find a cask containing a Ruby.
Return To The Lakeside Settlement (Optional)
There's one last optional stop to make before returning to the shrine. At the northwestern shore of the lake you can return to the Lakeside Settlement from Chapter One. There are a few Ganados here, so it's not entirely safe, but you can unlock the Wayshrine and collect a Ruby Ring in the basement where you first encountered Luis and Mendez. You can also use the Insignia Key to unlock the gate near the wall. Doing so lets you get a Small Key to open the drawer in the large house, and destroy a Clockwork Castellan hidden in the brush on the far end. Be warned that if you enter the Insignia gate, you'll be attacked by Ganados and Colmillos when you return! In the room under the Forest Altar, you'll find a Merchant Request on the left side. He wants to you catch the Lunker Bass in front of the boat house. Go to the spot where you started the chapter and look in the water to the left when facing the building. You should see the bass's fin sticking out of the water. Spear the fish with a harpoon, then collect it to sell when you next see the Merchant!
How To Solve The Hexagon Puzzle (Optional)
If you return to the dock that you first cast off from before the battle with Del Lago, you can place the three Hexagon Pieces on the Stone Pedestal (if you missed any, they're in the Merchant's Hideout, the Fish Farm, and next to the Blasphemer's Head). You'll be able to rotate three at a time around the central piece. The best way to solve the puzzle quickly is to get two adjacent outer pieces into place at a time. The image will depict Del Lago destroying a boat; place the monster's mouth at the top and its victim at the bottom to make it easily fall into place. Completing the puzzle will unlock a treasure that you can immediately sell to the Merchant.
How To Defeat El Gigante
Return to the Mural Cave with both the Apostate's Head and the Blasphemer's Head and place them on the hand-shaped altars. This unlocks the Church Insignia; return to the Merchant's Hideout and go back through the quarry to reach the church. Be sure to open the Stone Pedestal using the Hexagon Pieces, and the Wayshrine just outside the Hideout's main entrance! When you enter the quarry, the cultists will release El Gigante, triggering a boss fight. Before engaging, run into the shacks at the edge of the arena to collect the items inside. Be quick, as El Gigante will tear the building apart while you're inside.Hit El Gigante with whatever weapons you have available - the TMP is a good choice if you have ammo - until his Plaga emerges from his back. At this point, the boss will start using jump attacks that need to be evaded with a timed button press. If you saved the dog from the trap in the previous chapter, it will arrive to distract El Gigante. Don't waste ammo on the giant's main body - only damaging the Plaga will kill him.If you deal enough damage to the Plaga, El Gigante will fall to the ground, allowing you to make repeated melee attacks against the parasite. This is the surest way to deal damage. Flash Grenades will automatically trigger this; otherwise, your best bet is repeated shots with the pistol, TMP, or rifle.
How To Solve The Church Puzzle
When El Gigante is defeated, continue on your way back to the church. When you enter the churchyard, you'll be cornered by an infested wolf with a fully-grown Plaga. Kill it quickly before it can deal too much damage, then use the Church Insignia to open the main door.Inside the church, pick up the Green Herb to the left of the door and the bolts sitting on one of the pews. To the right of the door are several supplies, and a Blue Dial in a drawer at the end of the hall.Pull the lever to the left of the altar to activate the church's puzzle. Place the Blue Dial on the console that appears, then rotate each dial so that the Los Illuminados Symbol isn't overlapped by any of the colored panes of glass. The best way to do this is to rotate them one at a time, looking for shapes near the center that fit inside the arms of the symbol. When the window is aligned, the door in the left hallway will open. Go inside and climb the ladder to the second floor; enter the door on the left to find Ashley and end the chapter.
