168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Resident Evil 4 Remake pits one special agent against hundreds of violent cultists and their parasite-enhanced monsters. Leon needs all the help he can get, and most of that help comes in the form of upgradeable weapons offered by the mysterious Merchant. Chances are, though, that you won't be able to buy every weapon, especially on your first playthrough.
If you're having a tough time deciding on a loadout that will carve through the minions of Los Illuminados, try one of the weapons we've listed below - we've tried them all, and these are the best of the best!
This article contains spoilers.
We've decided to leave Bonus Weapons - that is, weapons unlocked on later playthroughs and through Deluxe Edition content - off of this list. It's a given that those will be good! This ranking focuses on what's available to Leon in a standard New Game.
10 Striker
Right from the beginning of the game, it's important to have a shotgun in your arsenal. Their short-range firepower is enough to one-shot most Ganados and severely damage elite enemies. The Striker, available toward the end of the game, goe🦹s all-in on the close-quarters potential of its weapon type.
The Striker boasts immense damage but a very wide spread, limiting its uses but making it excel in the right situations. At point-blank range, it's an almost-guaranteed kill against standard foes. It also works brilliantly as a room sweeper, hitting multiple targets in a wide arc at medium range to damage and (ideally) stagger them.
9 TMP
The TMP is the only submachine gun available for much of the game, so it's as close to a required purchase as weapons get. SMG ammo is somewhat rare and, as you might expect, it's easy to quickly run out with such a rapid-fire weapon. Used sparingly, though, the TMP will save your bacon in clutch situations.
Whether you need to clear several enemies at once or fill a Brute or Gigante with as much lead as possible, the TMP deals chip damage that adds up fast. Be sure to get the attachable TMP Stock to reduce the gun's recoil - every bullet that misses is a waste!
8 🌌 Fightingꦦ Knife
Leon's knife may not be as reliable as it was in the original, but it's still the most essential weapon in your arsenal since it allows you to escape grabs and perform stealth kills. For most of the game, you'll be alternating between Leon's Combat Knife and any temporary knives you find along the way.
Once you defeat Krauser at the end of Chapter Fourteen, though, the melee game changes forever. Krauser's Fighting Knife takes up more space in your inventory, but it's worlds better than the starter. Even before it gets any upgrades, the Fighting Knife outclasses the Combat Knife in terms of damage, and once it's fully kitted out with an Exclusive Upgrade Ticket it can even take down bosses if used correctly.
7 Killer7
Magnums aren't the one-stop shop that they were in the original game, largely due to the extreme rarity of their ammo. In many cases, a Magnum will languish in storage to save on inventory space since it will be so rarely used. It's worth making an exception for the Killer7, though, especially if you manage to stockpile enough gunpowder to craft some extra ammunition for it.
The Killer7 comes pre-equipped with a laser sight, giving it a deadly combination of precision and damage. Use it to one-shot Iron Maidens after they mutate, or to heavily wear down a boss's health with a few well-placed shots.
6 LE-5
You'll need nerves of steel to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:get the LE-5, because it's found in a cramped freezer with a vicious Regenerador. Since you need to enter the freezer to complete the game anyway, it's well worth the brief detour to get this amazing SMG.
The LE-5 requires a lot of investment to reach its full potential - before upgrades, it's held back by extremely slow reload times - but once it's maxed out it turns Leon Kennedy into John Rambo. Rapid-fire penetrating rounds will quickly clear enemy groups, and yo✱u can ev꧋en equip it with a scope for dealing with Regeneradors if your rifle ammo runs out!
5 Red9
This mainstay of the original game is available early on - you can find it on the wrecked boat in the middle of the lake in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Chapter Four. It's the most powerful handgun in the game, but its heavy recoil hamper🗹s its accuracy until you can trade some Spinels for the attachable stock.
The Red9 is great for standard combat situations, and most players will do well to swap out Leon's starting weapon in favor of this punch-packing pistol as soon as they find it.
4 Stingray
The Stingray is the game's ultimate sniper rifle, and it's available reasonably early - it first appears in the Merchant's inventory in the Castle. Even without upgrades, it allows players to methodically thin out enemy numbers from afar with precise headshots.
The Stingray is essential for defeating Regeneradors once you find the Biosensor Scope, making it one of the few weapons that's all-but-required to complete the game.
3 Blacktail
While the Red9 boasts pure firepower, the Blacktail is an all-purpose handgun that shines in any encounter. It has the ideal blend of power, accuracy, and reload speed, and it takes up the least space in your inventory of any firearm 𒊎in the game!
The only real disadvantage to the Blacktail is its limited clip size, but given its overall efficiency it's easy to mitigate that particular shortcoming.
2 Flash Grenade ▨
Apart from healing items, there's no resource in RE4 more precious than Flash Grenades. If all they did was stun enemies, allowing for an immediate melee followup or knife finisher, they'd still be near the top of this list... but that's only their secondary purpose!
Flash Grenades automatically kill any Plagas in their blast radius, instantly removing entire groups of dangerous enemies when used correctly. The fact that they also stun non-Plaga enemies without risking any damage to Leon or ཧAshley is the icing on the cake.
1 Riot Gun
Leon's best boomstick is back in the remake, and unless you're trying a challenge run you should never leave the Merchant's Hideout without it. The Riot Gun packs the incredible power of a shotgun into a tight spread, letting you eliminate foes at mid-range before they get too close. Fired into groups, you'll usually clip nearby enemies as well, making the Riot Gun a wonderfully efficient instrument of destruction.
It's easy to run through your supply of shotgun shells if you're on a roll with the Riot Gun, so be sure to manage your ammo. Take care of the game's best weapon, and it will take care of you.
