Resident Evil 0 is a prequel that follows the STARS Bravo team -- particularly Rebecca Chambers -- as they make their way to Spencer Mansion. Code Veronica is a spin-off sequel to Resident Evil 2 that follows Cl൩aire Redfield as she searches for her brother Chris. Both are available on modern platforms, but neither has been remade yet.

Resident Evil 5 Remake Isn't Happening Yet

"RE5 is not actively in [development] now either," they tweeted. "It's been funny seeing this be what people think is happening publicly."

Capcom may return to Resident Evil 5 down the line, as Code Veronica not only ties up Claire Redfield's story, it also lays the foundations for Albert Wesker's return. We'll just have to wait and see.

As for Resident Evil 9, which is expected to be the next game in the series, Dusk Golem claims that it will not be announced this Summer and that it's further away than previously thought, launching in late 2025 or 2026.
