As it stands, you have over 50 weapon mods to comb over and choose from. While you'll likely find some benefit out of any weapon mod you pick, due to the difficulty of game balancing and player-influenced metas, some mods will inevitably be better choices than others. Read on to find the best "bang for your buck" weapon mods.

9 𓆏 Energy Wall

A wide, purple shield of energy with rounded corners protecting the player.

Energy Wall is a fantastic defensive weapon mod that might remind you of the bubble shield from Halo 3. All you have to do is aim at the ground and deploy it, instantly d🍨eploying a wide energy shield that lasts 30 seconds and absorbs up to 500 damagꩲe.

The best part? You and your allies can shoot through the shield, while enemies can't, giving you opportunities to damage enemies or bosses when normally you'd have to be dodge rolling or using cover. If you're really stuck on a particular boss, give this mod a try.

8 Song of Eaf🤡ir 🤪

A revolver firing a bright blue projectile towards a group of enemies.

It's hard not to think of the word 'overpowered' when using Song of Eafir. If you see a group of enemies, fire off the blue projectile that this mod gives you to create a zone that staggers enemies, deals damage to flying enemies, slows targets, and decreases affected enemies' damage by 15 percent.

The zone lasts for 15 seconds, and the only downside is the mod power requirement, which is 1,000. Given the 🐎impressive crowd control effects and debuffs, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. You can find this mod in Yaesha or craft it if you bring the right resources to Ava McCabe.

7 Blood Draw 𓂃

A large, tall black and red creature suffering from a bleed effect.

Activating Blood Draw lets you hit up to five enemies within 15 meters of you with unusually sharp chains. Enemies hit by the chains are pulled towards you, receive 250 damage split equally between each target you're pulling, and suffer 275 bleeding damage over 15 seconds.

The mod power requirement is quite low at 450. The only thing you need to be mindful of is the weapon mod's animation takes a little bit of time, making you stationary for a brief moment, which can get you into trouble if you don't time things right.

6 Overflow

A humanoid enemy getting shocked with blue sparks from electrified overflow rounds.

Elemental damage is a great pathway towards high DPS early on in the game. Overflow electrifies the ammo you're firing, increasing your fire rate and reload speed by 15 percent. It also applies the Overloaded debuff to enemies hit, dealing 35 Shock damage every five seconds for 15 seconds.

For such a big boost to DPS, the downside is that this mod has a power requirement of 1,250, so unless you have a ton of power generation, you'll need to use this mod strategically. You can find Overflow in N'Erud or craft it with Ava McCabe.

5 Hot Shot

A machine gun with a large magazine firing flaming bullets at an enemy.

Instead of increasing reload speed or fire rate, Hot Shot increases your overall ranged damage by 15 percent for 20 seconds and applies Burni🌳ng to enemies you hit, causing 200 fire damage over the next ten seconds.

If you want this mod, head over to Ava McCabe. Once you're there, the mod can either be purchased for 1,500 scrap or crafted if you happen to have a single Root Ganglia on you. Given the low requirements, you can pick up this mod very early on.

4 Corrosive Rounds 🤡

A machine gun with a large magazine fires green, corrosive bullets at a ragged enemy.

If you're a big fan of crit chance builds, Corrosive Rounds will enhance your ammo with the Toxic effect, increasing your ranged crit chance by 15 percent for 20 seconds, and afflicting enemies with the Corroded debuff, dealing 100 damage over the next ten seconds.

While this mod's damage over time effect isn't as good as Hot Shot, the increased crit chance gives a massive boost to your DPS, especially when paired with crit-related items, like the Akari War Band or Braided Thorns.

3 Firestorm

A group of enemies enveloped in and burning inside an orange, fiery tornado.

Aside from just looking really cool, Firestorm deals some serious Fire damage. Once deployed, enemies caught in this blazing cyclone will receive the Burning debuff for 10 seconds, and more importantly, targets in the center of the storm receive 75 Fire damage per second.

The damage only gets better the more you upgr𝔍ade the mod, so try to upgrade it as much as you can. At max level, this mod deals 225 Fire damage per second to enemies; damage like that should be downright criminal. You can find the ꧙mod in Losomn or craft it with Ava McCabe.

2 Bore

A bright flash of purple energy and bits of black goop explode from a target.

Bore is a solid weapon mod that synergizes well with builds prioritizing 🤡weak spot damage. Bore fires drill projectiles that deal 80 damage on contact and start burrowing into your target. Once fully burrowed, an artificial weakspot is creaﷺted, giving half the damage bonus of a normal weakspot.

If you're a real crack shot and hit an enemy's already existing weakspot with this mod, your ranged crit chance is increased by 15 percent for the next six seconds. You can find this mod in N'Erud or craft it with Ava McCabe.

1 Defrag

A circle of red and orange, glitchy energy surrounds an area; the degrag mod has been activated.

Defrag is a very interes💯ting weapon mod that gives you a lot of options but requires 🌊a lot of situational decision-making. Activating the mod infects your weapon with Malware for the next 30 seconds, causing your ammo to apply the Fragmented debuff.

Fragmented enemies that die leave a Glitch on the ground for the next 15 seconds. Picking up the Glitch increases all damage dealt by 20 percent for 15 se🍎conds. Alternatively, if you shoot the Glitch, you create a zone that deals 25 damage per second, applying Fragmented to enemies caught inside.

The only do𒊎wnside is the massive mod power requiremen༺t of 1,500. You can find Defrag in Root Earth or craft it with Ava McCabe.
