Debate rages among the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth community. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Is Red XIII a cat? Is he a dog? Specifically, perhaps, is he a ""? I don't know or care about the answer to those questions because, to me, Red XIII is something else entirely. He's a cowboy.

This was not my read🌠 on the character when I played Final Fantasy 7 Remake. His tuft of black hair and rat tail make him look more like a grown-up version of Kovu from The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride. He seemed more emo than yeehaw.

FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH DEMO Red XIII On A Chocobo

Then I unlocked chocobos in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and my mind was blown. If I had thought about it at all, I would have expected Red XIII to run along beside the rest of the party as they rode. He’s an animal — a really smart animal, but still a four-legged, fur-having, sharp teeth and sharp claws animal. So, I was overjoyed, while riding to a side quest in the Grasslands, when I turned to look at my catdog companion and saw that he too was saddled up on a chocobo, paws placed on the bird's neck in the same way a human would.

There’s always something fun about seeing an animal do something they wouldn’t actually do in real life. The Oscars showed this over the weekend when they cut to Messi, the canine star of Anatomy of a Fall, clapping his paws, applauding like the humans in the audience. It’s the reason the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Will Ferrell talking dog movie Strays go⭕t made, even though it wasn’t good. It’s funnyꦉ to see animals getting high on mushrooms and threatening to bite Will Forte’s penis off — at least in theory.

Movies have been milking this juxtaposition for a long time. It’s Lady and the Tramp being serenaded while they eat pasta. It’s the animals talking in Babe. It’s Crush acting like a stoned surfer dude in Finding Nemo. We tend to laugh when we expect one thing and have those expectations upended, and animals acting like people is an easy way to subveꦺrt our expectations because we know how animals — especially pets — act. It’s the same reason that movie CGI oꦑf household animals like dogs and cats tends to be less believable than animals we don’t often see in our everyday lives like lions or dinosaurs. We know what to expect, so we notice when those expectations aren’t met. Sometimes that makes us laugh, and sometimes it sends us to the uncanny valley.

This is a big part of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s humor. Red XIII is often getting spoken to like a pet, and getting steaming mad about it. He’s growled petulantly at a perfectly nice person who didn’t think twice before calling him a dog so many times I've lost count. There’s also a great bit once you reach the Junon inn, where Red XIII walks out of Tifa’s room, strolls down the hall, rears up on his hindlegs, and opens his door by falling on the handle.

I don’t know how much of this was there in the writing stage, and how much emerged out of simply solving the problem of how 💮Red XIII s🔥hould interact with the world around him. Intentional or happy accident, Red XIII acting human in an animal body has been a perpetual source of comedy.
