P.T., the playable teaser for the now-cancelled Silent Hills, notably featured a continu🍸ally looping, never-ending hallway that the player could not escape. Modder Lance McDonald escaped it.

McDonald, the same modder who discovered that the the lurking specter of Lisa is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:always right behind the player, found a way to slip outsiꦑde the halls and into the fully-rendered town outside. He posted  to his YouTub🐟e channel.

McDonald discovered that the game's endless loop was achieved by stitching together map fi🎉les in a way that would not be logically connected using conventional geometry. To get outside, McDonald simply changed the coding so that the first door in the game's opening room didn't lead to the hallway, but instead to the town featured in the game's ending cinematic.

The video shows that while the town outside is fully-rendered, there's no collision detection, so players aren't able to walk around on their own -- instead, they fall into an infinite void below the game. However, interestingly enough, Kojima and his team did prepare for the possibility of players breaking their💞 way through the game's boundaries, and programmed it so that Lisa attacks the player and resets the game if they fall too far.

To fix the problem, McDonald patched the game so that꧒ the player would float a few inches above the ground at all times, letting the player walk through the town on thཧeir own.

The map of the town includes a trail of blood that the player character can be seen following ✤in the opening cinematic, a fairly detailed apartment building, a parking lot filled with vehicles, and more.

"While there's no way to be sure what the future holds, this may be the final canonical rendition of Silen✨t Hill to ever exist, so I hope you feel that I helped in some way to give you the chance to explore along with me," McDonald said.

It's unclear whether McDonald will continue to explore P.T., or w⛦ill move on to looking at unseen content in other games. Either way, it's amazing that there was still so much to be discovered in a single ꦑdemo for an unreleased game.
