From the start, it was named Pro Evolution Soccer, with the entry number appended to the end. Later, the number was replaced with a year, as is common in most sp🍌orts games.

Everything changed, though, in🌳 2019 when the series w💜as rebranded as eFootball. Over the years that followed, the series changed, becoming a free-to-play live service title that focused more on online play.
