The Poke♍mon World Championships emanate from a differe🍎nt city each year and in 2024, that city will be Honolulu, Hawaii. Perfect for an event that takes place in August as fans and competitors can roll the championships and their summer vacation into one. Although the action that unfolds across the weekend is the main attraction, the pop-up shop that accompanies the event is a close second, and some of the new merch that will be available there has now been revealed.
, 2024's Pokemon World Championships collection is naturally Hawaii-themed, a lot of it sporting an image of Pikachu in scuba gear. The Pokemon mascot even has a new scuba plush complete with goggles, a snorkel, and flippers on its feet. Riolu has a similar plush in the collection equipped with a plush underwater camera, and Azumarill is also headed to Hawaii for the world championships but won't be diving. Its new plush simply has a pink and white flower on its head.

Pokemon Launches A New Range Of Plushes For Sleep's Anniversary
The new range includes fo🐻ur p🎐lushes, one of which is a Pikachu sleeping on Snorlax's tummy combo.
The scuba diving Pikachu is the image you'll see most across this World Championships range. A great-looking backpack has the Electric-type front and center, a World Championships logo above it and a Honolulu 2024 one below. The front of the backpack is various shades of blue to make it look like Pikachu is underwater, a few Pokemon cameos included via silhouettes, and there's a floral design covering most of the rest of the backpack.
Pop Into The Pop-Up Store From August 14
Most of the range is standard Pokemon fair - pins, deck boxes, that sort of thing. The one item that is somewhat out of left field is the ukelele. An item included for its connection to Hawaiian culture, the instrument has a similar design to the rest of the range except Pikachu has been made to look like he's on the shore. The round hole you'll find in a regular ukelele has also been replaced with one shaped like Pikachu's face. The ukelele will cost $59.99 and is expected to be among the most popular items in the World Championships range.
The Pokemon pop-up store from which all of this merch and more will be available will open in Honolulu on August 14, 2024, and remain open until the event comes to an end on August 18. Most, if not all of it, will remain exclusive to that store. If you're lucky enough to be headed to the World Championships this summer and you like the look of some of this merch, make sure you reserve your spot. Even if you have a badge that gets you access to everywhere else at the event, you still need to make a reservation to visit the store.
