168澳洲幸运5开奖网: Pokemon TCG: 2024 Standard🍬 Rotation Guide
Another year, another bi♒g day for the Pokemon Trading Card Game. But why, thꦿough?
Sometimes, however, when you and an opponent are playing, there may be an instance where both of you win at the same time, resulting in Sudden Death. Continue reading below to learn more about Sudden Death in the Pokemon TCG, including when it may occur and what💎 happens during a match.
What is Sudden Death in the Pokemon TCG, and Why Does It Occur?
Sudden Death is an alternative play style that is used only when a game ends by both players winning at the same time. This occurs most often in decks that utilize cards that deal damage wh♑ile also placing damage counters on themselves.
One common example is with the Roaring Moon ex deck. If Roaring Moon ex has enough Damage on it, when it uses Frenzied Gouging, it will Knock Out both the Defending Pokemon and itself. However, in this example, if both players have two Prize Cards left, and Roaring Moon ex knocks itself out with Frenzied Gouging as well as a two-Prize Pokemon like Iron Hands ex, it will result in both players winning at the same time.
This is different than a tie. A tie occurs when the time for the game runs out and there is no single, clear winner. However, in the example above, both players are winners. Because two players cannot both win a single game, Sudden Death is used to decide who will win the match and who will lose.
How to Play Sudden Death in the Pokemon TCG
Sudden Death is played in a way that is almost identical to that of a regular game. It is an entirely different match, however, so you will reshuffle your deck from the last game and start from the beginning. You and your opponent will decide who goes first and then draw your first hand. A Basic Pokemon must be placed into the Active 💟Spot, or a mulligan will occur.
Once you and your opponent both have your first Basic Pokemon in the A🐷ctive Spot, you will draw your Prize Card.
This is where Sudden Death varies from typical gameplay. Instead of drawing the usual six Prize Cards, you and your opponent will both place only one Prize Card face down. As a result, knocking out j🦩ust one Pokemon, even on a single-Prize Pokemon, will win you the game.
Aside from the difference in the number of Prize Cards, Sudden Death is playeღd identically to regular gameplay, with each player drawing for turn, performing actions, and endin🤡g their turn.
What If Sudden Death Also Ends In A Sudden Death?
If the original game ended in a Sudden Death match due to the type of cards or play style, then there is a chance that the Sudden Death match may end the same way: with both players winning at the same time. However, the resolution to this problem is also the same. If a Sud༒d🍃en Death match ends with both players winning at the same time, they will compete in another Sudden Death.
This cycle will continue until one player alone wins. Note that you don't have to 'work up the chain' of Sudden Deaths – winning one will win you the whole gamꦗe.
Sudden Death may not always occur. 𒉰It is often up to the officials, including the Judge and the organizer, on the outcome of a game where both players win at the same time. However, Sudden Death is one of the most common resolutions.
