Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket's Damage Cap

Shared on ,🔯 a player named showed how they achieved the maximum possible damage in a sing👍le turn—990.

The player's Alakazam was facing the daunting prospect of a Moltres with 37 fire energies attached to it. The opposition 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Moltres ex had been sitting on the bench, accruing energies from another Moltres ex that was using the energy-st💛acking move Inferno Dance.

While in most cases, having 37 energy on a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon in the TCG would be pretty useless, in this case, it played into Lonk's hands. Alakazam's Psychic does 60 damage, plus 30 for every energy attached to the opponent's Active Pokemon. The 37 energy alone would have meant Alaka🎉zam dealt 1,110 damage, adding the 60 base from the attack, and it should have hit Moltres ex for 1,1🃏70. But instead, it only hit for a measly 990, implying the game has a hard cap on how much damage a Pokemon can receive.

It's likely this cap, disco♋vered by Lonk, who was almost certainly playing against themselves to test their theory, sits at 999, but as Pokemon deal damage in mult📖iples of ten, it is rounded down to 990.

It's a useless 🔯piece of information, given that you'll probably never hit for this m🐭uch, but one that's nice to know.
