The Blastoise Solo Battle Event picks up where the Lightning-type Mass Outbreak Event enಞds. You should have all the tools you need to take on all four of the event decks and make turtle soup out of the featured Pokemon. But if you need some help, you’re in the right place.

What Is The Blastoise Drop Event?

The announcement screen for the Blastoise Drop Event, featuring the Blastoise full-art promo.

The Blastoise Drop Event is a Solo Battle event that runs from January 1, 2025, until January 15, 2025. In the two-week-long event, you can battle against four computer-controlled Blastoise-themed decks to earn promo packs containing new cards.

As always, check your in-app notifications for the end൲ time i🐟n your time zone.

Like the previous two Solo Battle events, the Blastoise Drop Event introduces five new cardsও, including a 🍒full-art Blastoise, two new cards, and two reprints with new art.

Blastoise Drop Event New Items

The Blastoise promo card, from Pokemon TCG Pocket.

Five new cards💦 are available, including three with new art and two t💖hat are functionally unique, giving you new options to build with.

The title card of the event is a full-art Blastoise, featuring Blastoise taking a break in a workshop surrounded by tools and engine parts. This card is functionally identical to the version in Genetic Apex: Pikachu p🐼acks, so don’t stress about playability if you only get one copy.

The Eevee and Snivy promo cards, from Pokemon TCG Pocket.

Thanks to the Mythical Island version of Vaporeon, Eevee is finally seeing play. A new version of Eevee is available in the Blastoise Drop Promo Packs with Growl, which does 20 damage and reduces the Defending Pokemon’s damage by 20 for the next turn. While ⛄not game-changing, it may buy you an extra turn to set up.

Along with Eevee, a new version of Snivy is also available which trades Vine Whip for Tackle, cutting both the cost and damage in half. This version is likely to see play in Serperior/Celebi ex decks, since it can attack earlier, but the loss of ten HP (from 70 to 60) and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:uptick in Hitmonlee usage may make it the less-favored version.

The Volcarona and Cinccino promo cards, from Pokemon TCG Pocket.

Volcarona and Cinccino are the same as the versions already available from packs, but with new art. Volcarona sport🌄s the art previously released as a promo for 2012’s Dark Ex🐼plorers expansion, while Cinccino features the adorable art from the 2016 Fates Collide expansion.

Blastoise Drop Event Battles

Blastoise ex in the Active position receives its third Water Energy and prepares to attack.

There are four levels of battles available, but you have to beat each one to unlock the next higher difficulty level. Each battle costs one Event Stamina, but you only lose Event Stamina when you win, so you should always attempt the highest difficꩲulty🃏 you can beat.

You’re more likely to get a Promo Pack at higher difficulties. For the best chance of getting the cards you want, ♐you should try to unlock the Expert deck as soon as possible and then only play against that deck.

Beginner - Wartortle Deck

Wartortle Pokemon TCG Pocket Card Art.

The beginner deck is a basic deck with 18 Pokemon and two Poke Balls. There are only three Stage 1 Pokemon, and every Pokemon in the deck is weak to Lightning. This is a p♏retty simple deck to beat with any Lightning deck.

This battle has two Battle Tasks that can be completed for Event Hourglasses, plus a low chance to win one Shop Ticket, 25 Shinedust, and one Promo Pack A Series Vol. 3 pack containing one promo card.

Intermediate - Blastoise & Cramorant Deck

The Blastoise and Cramorant cards, from Genetic Apex.

The Intermediate deck drops an extraneous Froakie line in favor of Cramorant and two copies of Professor's Research. Cramorant has Di⛎ve, which allows it to avoid damage, b🍸ut that can be circumvented using Sabrina to force it to retreat.

Like the Beginner deck, this one can be easily knocked out with a basic Lightning-type deck. The Lt. Surge rental deck works just fine if you haven't assembled a Lightniꦯng dec🥂k of your own.

Advanced - Blastoise ex Deck

Blastoise ex Pokemon TCG Pocket Card Art.

The Advanced deck starts to pull out the big guns, replacing Blastoise with Blastoise ex. It's a direct upgrade to the normal Blastoise, with more damage on Hydro Bazooka, more HP, and a♔ second 𒊎attack so it doesn't need to wait as long to set up.

The deck only contains one copy of Blastoise ex, and is otherwise very similar to the Intermediate deck. As long as your opponent doesn't get 𒀰lucky with Blastoise ex in ꧑their hand early, you won't need to upgrade your Lightning deck.

Like the previous two decks, this one has a moderate chance to win one Shop Ticket, 25 Shinedust, and one Promo Pack A Series Vol. 3 pack containing one promo card, as well ﷽as four Battle Tasks that🐽 can be completed for Wonder Hourglasses.

Expert - Blastoise ex & Vaporeon Deck

The Blastoise ex card from Genetic Apex and Vaporeon from Mythical Island.

The Expert deck feels like a real challenge, as it adds Vaporeon to make Energy placement safer, Articuno ex as a backup attacker, and Misty for those coin flip hijinks we all know and🎃 love.

At this point, a simple Lt. Surge or rental deck might not be enough, since Articuno ex can start attacking on turn-one with Misty. Pikachu ex works well, but we also found the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Arcanine ex d♏eck to be surprisingly effective despite having a type disadv🦹antage.

The Expert deck has five Battle Tasks, some of which require you to win multiple times against this deck. Since this deck has a 100 percent drop rate on Promo Packs, you'll want to farm it anyway.
