Pokemon Scarlet &𓄧; Violet: What Are The Paradox Pokemon?

Paradox Pokem🐓on mysteriously resemble 🦩familiar Pokemon. Here's everything you need to know about these new forms in Scarlet and Violet.

The Treasures of Ruin are a quartet of legendary Pokemon in the Paldea region. They're quite a diverse bunch. From their striking designs and intriguing lore to their potential when added to your team, we'll take an extended look.

Updated November 11, 2023 by Quinton O'Connor: We have added further details as well as rewritten portions of the original article for improved clarity.

Overview

The four Treasures of Ruin are Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, Wo-Chien, and Chi-Yu.

'The Treasures of Ruin' is the term given to the four endgame Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. TEach one shares Dark as their primary type, though their secondary types differ. The Treasures also share a signature attack, the fittingly titled Ruination, which always deals damage equal to half the target's current HP.

Each Treasure has an ability that drops either the offensive stats or defensive stats of all Pokemon battling against them. Between Ruination and these substantial debuffs, it's no wonder the people of Paldea hid them away in centuries past. Of course, that won't stop us from adding them to our collection, because Pokemon protagonists are nothing if not reckless in the pursuit of power.

Wo-Chien is a Dark/Grass-type that closely resembles a snail made up of dark-green moss and green-and-yellow leaves. Its eyes are comprised of several curling vines that form the outline of this Pokemon's orange eyes. Its 'shell' comprises a row of wooden tablets that spiral into a peak.

The tablets are said to document the evil deeds of the Paldean king from a thousand years ago, the writer's grudge over being punished for documenting these truths giving life to the Treasures of Ruin. Wo-Chein is said to be able to drain the life force of vegetation within a wide area, leading to entire forests becoming barren within its presence. Wo Chien's signature ability, Tablets of Ruin, lowers the Attack stats of all other active Pokemon by 25 percent.

The Legend

entry in the violet book suggesting a disk shaped pokemon

Players first hear of this legend 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:from school, specifically from one of Ms. Raifort's lessons. She explains that, sometime during the Paldean Empire, roughly two thousand years before the events of Scarlet and Violet take place, there was a greedy king with a penchant for collecting treasures from countries that weren't his own.

Eventually, a merchant from the East came to the king bearing four items. A vessel, a sword, a set of wooden ta💦blets, and a set of beads. The king was initially pleased with these items and paid the merchant handsomely. However, that same 🅘night, tragedy struck.

A disaster fell upon the king and his castle, reducing it to rubble before the night was done. Fearing the items' power, they were locked away so that no mortal could ever release the destruction and havoc that the items were said to inflict upon the kingdom. This was how the lesson ended, but it's not the end of the story, nor is it the complete story.

The Truth

Raifort Pokemon Scarlet Violet

After 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:becoming close to Ms. Raifort, she will eventually reveal that, according to the legend, the items that the king received were actually Pokemon. Specifically, Pokemon that were corrupted by humanity's greed and malice as they were passed around from person to person over the years. The king's greed was the final piece that pushed the Pokemon over the edge, causing them to lash out and go on a rampage. In a single night, they razed the king's castle before escaping to rampage across the kingdom.

To stop them, the king was forced to employ several skilled trainers known as 'Pokemon wielders' to subdue the beasts. After a long-fought battle, the Pokemon wielders were victorious and sealed away these creatures of calamity into four shrines within Paldea. Each shrine was sealed using eight stakes that were scattered across the region.
