Palkia will appear in Pokemon Violet, and Dialga will appear in Pokemon Scarlet, but as long as you have access to the Poke Portal, you can do the opposite raid online.

Both will be level 75, have a Dragon Tera-Type, and their hidden ability, Telepathy.

How To Defeat Palkia

Of the two, Palkia's easier to beat because it doesn't have coverage for Fairy Types and is less bulky than Dialga. It has several moves that hit hard, but with enough planning, a Fairy-Type with good Sp. Def can handle it.

Palkia will have the following moveset:

Palkia's main strategy is to simply hit you with very powerful special moves. However, each one individually does not have many uses, so while Palkia won't use Struggle at any point, it will rotate through different moves very often, even if inconvenient.

Palkia will immediately use Gravity and then summon Rain. Once you're a quarter of the way through its health bar, it will make a shield and negate all negative effects.

Best Pokemon For Defeating Palkia

The best Pokemon to use for this battle is a bulky, level 100 Fairy-type. If you bring a Fairy-type, Palkia won't use Draco Meteor at all, limiting its options to Fire Blast, Thunder, and H🤡ydro P𝕴ump.

Azumarill is a good choice because it also resists Hydro Pump and Fire Blast while being so bulky that Thunder won't one-shot it. Azumarill also learns Aqua Ring, allowing it to set up healing for itself.

Make sure your Azumarill has Huge Power, Play Rough, and Aqua Ring, then equip a Shell Bell for more healing. From there, just spam Play Rough until you can Terastalize and Palkia goes down.

Belly Drum is a good set up move for Azumarill that will let you get through this raid faster, but it isn't necessary, as you have to breed it onto Azumarill.

For Fairy-types with good Sp. Atk like Sylveon and Flutter Mane, a good strategy is to use Calm Mind, Draining Kiss, and equip a Metronome.

Use your first couple of turns to set up, and then spam Draining Kiss to stay healthy. T🌱erastalize as soon as you can after the sh🎶ield goes up.

How To Beat Dialga

Dialga's Steel-typing makes it more difficult to just send in with a Fairy-type, but it's still doable in a couple of tries.

Dialga has the following moveset:

Dialga will start by setting up Trick Room, allowing it to move first, t🎃hen, like Palkia, will use its various attacks before setting up its shi💫eld about a quarter through its health bar.

The most difficult thing about Dialga is Steel Beam, which Dialga can use without incurring recoil damage and will do massive damage to even bulky Fairy-Types.

Best Pokemon To Beat Dialga

For this fight, it's best to use a Dragon-type, as they will resist Steel Beam and Fire Blast. While they are weak to Draco Meteor, Dialga doesn't use it often due to the Sp. Atk drop.

Use a Dragon Type that focuses on Sp. Atk such as Miraidon or Goodra, as Dialga will use Iron Defense immediately after you break i🅷ts shield.

While you do not have to have a Dragon Tera Type, it will get you through the shield faster.

From there, the best strategy is to give your Pokemon a Shell Bell and use a Special Dragon move such as Dragon Pulse over and over again. If you want to use a setup move, you can, but Dialga resets both yours and its own stats very frequently.

Tips For Online Tera Raids

As most players only have a copy of one game, you'll most likely have to use online Tera Raids for at least one of these Pokemon. This is less efficient because you can't control what other players do.
