Three days ago, Pokemon fans proved once again that hope springs eternal. A mysterious teaser image, created to boost interest in this Tuesday's upcoming Pokemon Presents, had folks wondering whether The Pokemon Company was hinting at long-awaited remakes for Pokemon Black and White, or perhaps even a sequel of soꦉme kind to 1998's coldly-received Hey You, Pikachu.

I've long maintained that it's best never to convince oneself that any social media hint is ever "pr🧜oof" that something I want to see is about to be revealed. It looks like that emotionally defensive mentality has spared me a touch of anguish, because Pikachu was not, in fact, approaching a black-and-white sound system due to any pending Gen 5 return or GameCube-era reimagining.

Hey You, DJ Pikachu

In the above image, DJ Pikachu is jamming away atop the monochrome audio setup that he'll presumably be hanging out with when he runs a newly-announced Pokemon Presents pre-show. I'm not quite sure why we needed one, but it's ours so long as we tune in a bit early for the showcase of what'ꦡs to come in the wonderful world of Pokemon.

, Pokemon's Japanese Twitter account has revealed what exactly Pikachu was thinking when the original teaser pic had him sc๊oping out the hardware. Surp🧸rise! It's a music stream, titled “Everyone Gather! DJ Pikachu Live”, and it's happening in the last hour before the Pokemon Presents kicks off in earnest at 9 am EST on July 22.

Does this mean a Pokemon Black and White remake announcement is out of the question? Of course not! Anything can happen. Ditto on Hey You, Pikachu - no pun intended. But with Game Freak putting the finishing touches on , which is launching on October 16, it's entirely possible that they'd prefer𒅌 to keep all eyes on that Kalos-centric mainline game. Not to mention, we still don't know much about Pokemon Champions, the upcoming battle-focused project.

What🦋ever happens, we can soon jam along with the one and only DJ Pikachu as he brings us the hottest beats from Kanto to Paldea. Or something.
