Has anyone noticed that the rarest cards in the Eevee Grove expansion for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Pocket aren’t even that nice? I’m not trying to be someone who poos all over an artist’s painstaking artwork, but when you compare the Eevee ex immersive rare to those thღat came before, it just doesn’t do it for me.

I’m not against cute artwork – 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Asako Ito is one of my favourite Pokemon TCG artists – I’m just saying that Eevee Grove bucks the trend. The rainbow rares are nice, but there’s no 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Gengar ex, Zapdos ex, or Darkrai ex that I set my heart on immediately after seeing it. When you look at the more common cards, 🧜however, there are plenty that tickle my particular pickle♈.

Jolteon Master Ball Pattern Pokemon TCG card art.

Eevee and each of its evolutions has a one-star rarity, full art card. These look great. Each card perfectly embodies the Eeveelution that it represents; a storm of lightning bolts for Jolteon, the moonlit city streets for Umbreon, etc. What more do you need? Other than 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sword & Shield Jolteon V, of course.

It’s these cards that I want more than the rainbow rares, the immersive rare, or that dreadful Eevee backpack golden rare. And after spending a few days trying to work out why, I realised the answer is simple: personal preference. Stop overthinking it, Bꦦen, and enjoy the cards you do like.

Eevee Grove Is Refreshing For Free-To-Play Players

Since transitioning to a free-to-play player, I’ve struggled to keep up with Pokemon Pocket’s relentless release schedule. I completed my card ‘dex for the first few releases (barring rainbow rares and gold cards – I wasn’t that much of a whale), but I’m behind the times. Before, I could spend my pack points𝔉 on alternative artworks that I liked the look of. Now, I have to grab trainers that I need to build decks. I’m not pretending this is the greatest strugg🐬le in the world, or even in gaming, but I’ve had to adapt how I play the game.

Eevee Grove is a blessing. I don’t have to hunt for rainbow rares, as I’ll be relieved to get my hands on the far more common one-star cards. Once I’ve completed them, I can return to previous expansions to complete. Celestial Guardians or Shining Revelry are looking more barren than Area Zero, so I’🧸ll likely turn to them first.

A Player-Focused Approach, Or Just Coincidence?

umbreon moonbreon card from pokemon tcg pocket.

Most of all, I’m surprised P🉐okemon Pocket let this happen. This is a game about extracting the most money from its players, and it has missed an open goal. There’s no Moonbreon, a card that commands enormous prices in the real TCG. Instead, DeNA opted for… Flareon? It must be one of the least popular Eeveelutions, and the new artwork is hardly making a bid to enter my top three.

Sylveon, on the other hand, is at least a popular Eeveelution. The popularity of the Fairy-type and its surpri🧸se addition to the Eevee𝄹lution roster in Pokemon X & Y helped Sylveon into the upper echelons of the Eeveelution leaderboard (because it’s a competition, obviously). It just scrapes into my personal top three – no prizes for guessing the two above it based on this article – and yet I’m still not fussed about its rainbow rare artwork.

This could just be a me problem, if it’s a problem at all. Art is, by its very nature, subjective. I’ve met players who don’t rate the Akira Egawa 🧸artworks in the game! This set’s rainbow rares don’t do it for me and the gold card is even worse, but I’m thankful for it.

I like that the developer is shining a spotligh𒀰t on less popular ‘mons – and I’d ✨probably have to rewrite this article if it were Jolteon in Flareon’s place – but it feels strangely out of character for this game. If DeNA wanted to print money, it would have released an exclusive, coveted Moonbreon. It would have given Umbreon and Espeon the rarest cards. Maybe this is a sign that Moonbreon will be locked behind the premium paywall soon, but for the time being I’m enjoying the change of pace.

This isn’t something important enough to celebrate. It’s probably not even a conscious decision to make this set easier or cheaper to complete. It’s ju🎃st a breather for me, specifically. So thank you, DeNA. And thank you from anyone else who has a chance to finally go back and complete some older sets.
