Pokemon is one of the most well-known franchises in video game history, and is one of Nintendo's flagship franchises. 16 Red & Blue - 373 KB 💟
Pokemon Red and Blue (released and Red and Green in Japan) were the first games in the Pokemon series, releasing in 1996 for the G🅰ame Boy. As many Game Boy games are, Pokemon Red and Blue were incredibly small.
A few years later in 1999, a speci🃏al Pikachu edition was released, called Pokemon Yellow. This new version clocked in at 503 KB. This is larger than the original, but still quite small.
15 🔴 Gold &amꦇp; Silver - 710 KB
Made for the Game Boy Color, Gold and Silver were the fir🍸st games to feature the second gen𒊎eration of Pokemon, introducing approximately 100 new species.
Pokemon Gold and Silver was double the size of the original games and boasted colorful graphics. Like the previous generation, a special third title was released, called Pokemon Crystal. Coming in꧃ at 976 KB, Pokemon Crystal added over 200 KB of content.
14 Ruby & Sapphire - 4.58 MB 𒁃
Ruby and Sapphire were launched in November 2002 for the Game Boy Advance. They introduced the Hoenn region, which was inspired by 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:one of Japan's real-life islands, Kyushu. Together, Ruby and Sapphire are the best-selling titles for the Game Boy Advance, while Emerald takes third ꧋place.
Pokemon Emerald came out just a few years later,🌞 and brought with it a file size of 6.48 MB. Together, these three titles mark the first generation of Pokemon games that are over one MB big.
13 🧜 🐼 FireRed & LeafGreen - 4.95 MB
Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen are the first ever Pokemon remakes, taking game🌳rs back to the first game in the series. These two games released in 2004, shortly before the release of Pokemon Emerald.
At 4.95 MB, it's obvious that these remakes greatly expanded upon the original Red and Blue.
12 Diamond & Pearl - 25.8🧸1 MB
Diamond and Pearl introduced a plethora of new features into the Pokemon video game serie💙s, such as an expanded day-night cycle.
Pokemon Diamond and Pearl marked an imporant time in Pokemon history, as they were the very first Pokemon games released on the Nintendo DS. With Improved graphics, the file size is quite impressive compareཧd to past titles. A third version, Pokemon Platinum, released a short time after, and had a꧂ file size of 48.43 MB.
11 🌳 HeartGold & SoulSilver - 56.36 MB ꦛ
HeartGold and SoulSilver are another pair of remakes, go⭕ing back i🅰n time to Pokemon Gold and Silver. As remakes, they stay true to the overall plot, with many graphical improvements.
Interestingly, 🐓a remade version of Pokemon Crystal never released. Instead, many elements from Pokemon Crystal are included in both of the rem🍸akes.
10 ꦍ Black & White - 106 MB
Black and White are the first two games to take place in a region that was not inspired by Japan. The Unova region takes inspiration fro💫m New York City and the state of New York as a whole, encompassing rural, urban, and industrial areas to craft🔴 a diverse backdrop.
Pokemon Bla⛄ck and White are quite larger than the previous release, and were also enchaned for the Nintendo DSi with additional features.
9 Black & White 🦋2♏ - 147 MB
Pokemon Black and White 2 were not remakes of the first two, asꦓ Pokemon history would suggest. Instead, these were a continuation of the original Black and White.
Coming in and a whopping 147 MB, Blaꦕck and White 2 take place a full two years after the first games, adding new locations, gyms, and Pokemon not previously included.
8 X🤡 &𝓀 Y - 1.7 GB
At last, we hav🍌e the first Pokemon games that were released on the Nintendo 3DS. X and Y came out in 2013, wit🥀h phenomenal graphics compared to the original 1996 release.
As the fir𒊎st 3DS games, Pokemon X and Y were also the first two games to go over 1 GB. Additionally, this marked the first time that you could buy a digital copy of a core Pokemon ga𓃲me.
7 Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire - 1.8𝓰 GB
Pokemon Omega Ruby and A𒆙lpha Sapphire are the third set of remakes in the series, and as🧸 their name implies, they are based on Ruby and Sapphire. Released in 2014, these came over ten years after the original titles.
Up until this point, Pokemon remakes maintained the same style. 2D graphics were remade to better-looking 2D graphics. With ꧃Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the original games were re-imagined in a 3D world.
