Insomniac's hack was such a big and notorious deal that you might have hoped that would be the end of it. That sadly isn't the case, though, as Pokemon developer Game Freak also suffered a re🎉ce🉐nt data breach that has caused a bunch of unannounced Pokemon games and deveﷺlopment files to be leaked.

Game Freak Shares Statement Regarding Pokemon Hack

While the hack has come as quite a surprise to nearly everyone, it seems that Game Fre💟ak has been aware of it for some time now and was even prepared for last night's leaks. , the studio shared an , predating the leaks being released by three days.

, which confirms thatཧ the "unauthorised access to our servers" actually took place some time ago in Augus🅰t of this year. The statement apologises to any employees who have been affected by the hack, and doesn't actually focus on the content that's been shared since it was released before the leaks started.

"Dueꦍ to unaꦺuthorised access to our servers in August 2024, personal information on our employees was leaked. We apologise to those affected."

𓄧 In response to the hack, Game Freak says that it's contacted any of the employees whose personal data was included in the data breacꦆh and confirmed that it's "rebuilt and reinspected" its servers to prevent it from happening again in the future. Considering just how much Pokemon content has been shared from the leak, it seems likely that we'll get another statement at some point next week.
