I finally get 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Disney Lorcana. My friends and colleagues have been obsessed with it for what feels like decades now, but I brushed off their excitement because I’ve never been one for trading card games where I need to keep my eye out for rares an🎃d keep everything tucked away in folders before I graded them, sold them online, or, god forbid, actually use them to play the game. It is an expensive and labour-intensive affair my scattershot brain doesn’t have enough capacity to appreciate. But I’m happy for them, and have to admit the excitement is infectious as new card designs and mechanics are shared with me on a daily basis.

However, after playing against a bunch of my colleagues in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pixelborn - a digital version of Lorcana created by fellow fan Pavel Kolev - my mind swiftly changed. Turns out Lorcana is basically a more simplistic version of Hearthstone or Legends of Runeterra, complete with a mixture of new and familiar mechanics I was able to understand effectively after a couple of practice games. Building decks and understanding the meta is still beyond me, but the fact I can jump into Lorcana and have a good time surprised me. It isn’t daunting or scary or elitist like I feared, even if some people do take a game like this very seriously. Mickey Mouse is in it though, he’d want us to have a good time and f🎉inally let him into the public domain.

Despite what its name m🀅ight suggest, there isn’t a huge amount of actual lore to learn when it comes to Lorcana. It’s a nostalgia-ridden card game laser focused on Disney adults like us who grew up with animated classics, with a few more modern feature films included for good measure. Some characters are also depicted in alt🔯ernate universes with different roles from what we’ve come to expect, essentially opening the floodgate (or floodborngate…) for Ravensburger to do what it likes with an endless vault of classics.

Seeing Belle from Beauty and the Beast painted as an inquisitive inventor or a tree-hugging archer is incredibly unique, as is watching Tinker Bell blown up to a giant size to subvert our expect🎀ations. It’s really cool, with even a surface level of knowledge being enough to ap🐈preciate the designs and jump into the fold. Lorcana feels like it has been designed to accommodate people like me who are vaguely aware of TCGs, while never trying to push away veterans of cardboard who want in on the action.

But why has Pixelborn tickled my fancy while my interest in the physical card game boils down to a single starter deck that I haven’t even opened? I don’t want to say it’s thanks to money and scalpers, but it&rsq♈uo;s thanks to money and scalpers. As I’ve learned from a friend who spends thousands on Magic: The Gathering, trying to collect everything in games like Lorcana is serious business. You’ll be spending hundreds to find everything of every single rarity, and that’s without taking into account that stock right now in the UK is limited as the scalpers among us buy up thousands of booster packs before anyone has a chance to get their 🙈hands on them.

Trying and failing will only make me feel like shit, while Pixelborn has given me access to everything I’d ever need without having to spend a penny. I can choose to support its creator on Patreon for extra features, but otherwise after a few steps I’m in a game with friends and r🦹eady to get my ink on. By that I mean my inkwell. Nothing sus.

Yes, Pixelborn is a little buggy and sometimes glitches out for no reason, but given it was made by a fan in his free time who wanted to share this digital alternative with the world, I would be foolish to complain. It runs well enough, has cool animations, and allows games with my friends to play out with minimal fu🦋ss. I even managed to win a couple of times, and that is rare for me when it comes to most things in life, but Lorcana is easy to understand and positively devious to master. The best of both worlds, and I feel silly that it took so long for me to finally see the light and join in on the fun.

Now this doesn’t mean I’m going to be scoopin🐼g up every single booster pack I see as I aim for a full collection, but it does mean I have a reason to care now, even if my experience remains confined to a digital counterpart.

Pixelborn isn’t even official, and Ravensburger’s legal team could descend one day and shut it down, but it’s given more reason for me to check out Lorcana than I ever could have imagined. Now hurry up and add 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Owl House cards, so I can become obsessed like🐻 everyone else.
