The Persona series hosts a roster of fantastically well-written characters within their games, where very few are weakly characterized. What makes the characters of Persona so memorable is their struggles and we✨aknesses both in their personal lives and, of course, when in battle.

These elements elevate characters, making them more believable when thought of in our reality. You can still have unforgettable characters without much standing in actuality, but when they're people you can recognize yourself or those you know in, it gives them the extra bite needed to draw you into the headspace of these individuals.

10 R🅠ise Kujikawa - Persona 4

Persona Rise Kujikawa text box.

Rise Kujikawa is a popular idol who returns to Inaba for a hiatus from her work. The pressures already being put upon Rise to make her a fascinating and complex character — she's a teenager having to balance the weight of fame, schoolwork, and growing up in between all that. The onl🍌y reason Rise accepted the offer to become an idol and be onTV is because she longed for friends, true friends who would be there for her.

But with fame comes the fabricated image her agents created for the public eye. People fell for her false, projected self rather than her genuine personality. There are many sympathies to be had for this character, and on top of that, Rise just has some really amazing moments. She's a valued member of the team.

9 Akihikoಞ Sanada - Persona 3

Persona Akihiko talking about Beef Bowl's.

Captain of Gekkoukan's high school boxing team, Akihiko Sanada, is one of the party members in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Persona 3. Akihiko shows up quite a lot in various other Persona properties, such as the anime series Persona: Trinity Soul. The character has been a long-standing presence, and it's easy to see why. With determination being a constant drive and his serious approach towards stressful situations, he's a reliable friend and teammate.

He's most definitely one you'll be missing sorely once your time with Persona 3 comes to an end, to say the least of it.

8 🥂 Mitsuru Kirijo - 💮Persona 3

Persona Mitsuru attacking an enemy.

Daughter of the Kirijo group's head, Mitsuru Kirijo is a wise and intelligent individual who has a professional outlook on being a SEES member. Shown to be strict and addressing other members more often by their last name, there's a real maturity to Mitsuru. This is evident not only through her Arcana but from the leadership position she takes up among her fellow Persona users.

Mitsuru is similar to Makoto in a few ways, especially when it comes to being the most responsible member of the group. We'd love more scenes of the two in the future.

7 Makoto Niijima 🥂- Persona 5

Persona Makoto talking to Joker. Text box reads "Though I'll also keep up with my normal duties, of course."

Planting her feet and standing her ground, Makoto isn't one to let others tell her what to do. Makoto is one to strive towards perfection, sometimes maybe a little too much, constantly feeling the need to do better, be better, and never feeling like she has done enough. It's most likely because of this that Makoto has a much softer side where her compassion for other people (especially her friends) shines through.

With Makoto seeming to have no fear when it comes to standing up for herself, it's surprising when you find out she has a pretty intense fear of ghost stories and the dark. Let's hope she never appears in a Fatal Frame game.

6 ꦗ Chie Satonaka - Persona 4 🅠

Persona Chie speaking to characters.

Often labeled as the extrovert of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Persona 4, Chie Satonaka is someone who tries to make the best out of the situation at hand by trying to cheer up her teammates. She's energetic, outgoing, and has a love for kung-fu movies. But there's also a different side to her, one that fills her with guilt and jealousy. Chie is envious of her friend Yukiko for all the male attention she receives and considers herself undesirable because of this.

Chie is an excellent character because her story tackles feelings of insecurities in teenage girls, which ar☂e often experienced 🌠when society seemingly pits women against each other.

5 Koromaru - Persona 3 🅺

Persona Koromaru. Text box on screen reading "You promise Koromaru to buy the DVD for him when it's released..."

Who doesn't desire a best friend in the form of a dog? Especially when it's one to experience adventures within video games. There's a reason why gamers love 168♈澳洲幸运5开奖网:the🦋 Mabari war hound in Dragon Age: Origins. It's cute! And it has some adorable moments with the cast of characters, just like Koromaru from Persona 3. This knife-wielding doggo loves a good pet, hanging out by his beloved shrine, and watching re-runs of the show "The True Battles Of Real Men."

With great quꦏotes like "Woof woof!" and "Arf! Arf!", how can you not love him?

4 N꧋aoto Shirogane - Persona 4

Naoto and Yu talking in the park at a picnic table in Persona 4 Golden

Naoto had a traumatic childhood, having lost her parents in a car crash, and this has led her to close herself off from those around her emotionally. This sometimes makes her come off as a killjoy or as someone that takes things too seriously. Throughout Persona 4, Naoto opens up among her peers more and states she feels terrible for how much she is prioritizing the missions above her friends. In addition, she's a hard worker who has faced sexism throughout the police force, making her present herself as androgynous in a ploy for people to take her seriously.

Naoto Shirogane is a seriously complex charac𝕴ter with many daily struggles, and the depth this lends her personality makes h🔯er one of the greatest characters of the Persona franchise.

3 𒉰 Ryuji Sakamoto🌠 - Persona 5

Persona 5 Ryuji Sakamoto. Looking into a store and talking about Joker's glasses.

The misunderstood nature of Ryuji causes others to see him as nothing more than a brash individual who enjoys causing trouble, but there's a reason why he acts this way. Ryuji is fueled with anger at the notion of his future dreams of becoming an athlete are thwarted. It's because of the hardships pushed upon those most vulnerable by adults and other authority figures like Kamoshida; he empathizes deeply with people who have been affected similarly.

Throughout 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Persona 5, you see moments between Ryuji and Ann where they have a common understanding of the power authority has over younger people and how this can affect their lives. He's a flawed yet caring individual 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:who will do anything for his friends.

2 𒁏 Aigis - Persona 3

Persona Aigis. Text box reading "As a precaution, I will cut off motor functions to my arms and legs."

Android characters within media are super interesting to delve into because of how emotions are presented through them. Aigis becomes a playable member of the team whose fate is somehow tied to the game's protagonist. Aigis feels destined to protect the protagonist and begins caring more and more for her teammates as her emotions start to develop.

Emotions are tricky for everyoꦿne to understand. But for Aigis (who is just now developing them), it creates an incredibly troublesome time, resulting in many moments of Aigis growing as a character and coming to terms with what it is she desires out of life.

1 🥂 Maya Amano - Persona 2

Persona Maya Amano. Text box reading "There are so many stars in the sky..."

Maya Amano is one of the playable characters in Persona 2 who has an unwavering optimism, helping her friends and keeping everyone ready for the days ahead. She's someone who keeps team morale up, cares deeply for people and what they're going through, but also struggles with some personal issues. At a young age, Maya was locked in a Shrine she and her friends would play at. A man named Tatsuya Sudou then set the Shrine on fire.

It's because of this that Maya has a deep-rooted phobia of fire and feels hindered by it. Flawed protagonists are easily the best because being imperfect and not always making the right choices is incredibly relatable. You have to make the best out of the hand you're dealt.
