shadow wakaba in the sky attacking the thieves

What Shadow Wakaba lacks in weaknesses, she’s definitely got in attacks, so taking her on in combat ♐is not going to be easy. Take a second before heading in for the boss fight to make sure your bases are covered.

You’ll almost certainly be sustaining a good amount of damage in the fight ahead, so be sure to have a healer in your team, as well as a collection of healing and status ailment-canceling items, too. As physical attacks are the ticket to the last part of the fight, someone with heavy physical attacks like Ryuji will definitely come in handy.

During both stages of the fight, Shadow Wakaba will be able to use the following attac🙈ks:

Getting To The Fight

the thieves arriving to the last climb to futaba's treasure

Seeing as your group didn’t actually find the treasure itself last time, you’ve still got a bit of work to do before your boss fight. Fast travel to the Corridor Summit Safe Room and hop in the elevator.

Take the stairs up until you’ve got a choice in direction, then take a left. Straight takes you to several shadows, and with a tough fight ahead, you’ll be wishing you conserved your HP and SP if you fight them, so it's easier to sneak past.

Sticking to the left is generally the way to go, but there is one last treasure chest if you sneak off toward the right. The exit, however, is up ahead, so head into the Treasure Room for one last cutscene before the fight begins.

First Stage

Your fight with Shadow Wakaba begins with her flying around the pyramid, and your attacks won’t deal much damage here. Since nothing will do too much right now, your best bet in this stage is buffing your defense if possible, guarding against her attacks and status ailment infliction when she uses them, and healing yourselves.

The real focus right now is biding your time and keeping everyone alive, because eventually, Shadow Wakaba will fly up into the air and vanish.

She’s obviously not gone, but there’s absolutely nothing you can do to damage her right now. She, however, is charging up for a massive attack, so take one or two turns to heal everyone in the party as much as possible.

Then, have everyone block on the second or third turn before Shadow Wakaba unleashes her Sphinx dive.

Even with the team guarding, this attack is still going to hurt – a lot. Depending on your difficulty, your mileage may differ, but anyone above half-HP should be left alive, so p🌜lan accordingly in the turns leading up to the divebomb attack🦩.

The good news is that you’ve now got an extra hand in the fight after surviving this attack. Futaba comes into her own palace as you're fighting her shadow mother, and after a cutscene, she awakens to her Persona, Necronomicon.

Now, Futaba will assist you in fights. Adding her to the team ushers you into the n𝓰ext phase of fighting Shadow Wakaba.

After Awakening Necronomicon

futaba awakening her persona necronomicon

With Futaba on your team, she uses her computer skills to hack a ballista into her palace for you.

Firing it requires sending one of your teammates off to actually take the shot, which takes a few turns. Without much, you can do without the ballista, and take the time to heal up after that last Divebomb.

Once the ballista is fired, Shadow Wakaba will fall for a few turns. While she’s on the ground like this, physical and gun attacks do roughly 5x the damage as they did at a distance, so lay into her with everythi🍸ng you’ve got before she 🐓gets back up again.

And get up again, she will. You’ll have to do this entire process twice, as Shadow Wakaba gets up and begins flying once again. Like before, you can’t really damage her while she's flying, so♔ don’t waste the ಞSP. Focus on healing and debuffing defenses for now and wait until the second ballista shot takes her down a second time.

When her health has been depleted enough, you’ll enter a Hold Up scene, where you fire the final shot to defe👍at Shadow Wakaba for good.

You’ll see a superbly heartwarming scene, followed immediately by an anime segment of your frantic escape from the palace as it collapses in behind you. Turns out, Futaba was the treasure of her own palace, and stealing her from it means that the palace will vanish. Enjoy the cutscene of your team on the run, then enjoy biding your time until Futaba wakes up from her exha🧸ustion sleep at the end of your deadline to join the Phantom Thieves for good.
