** - If someone is already inflicted with Hunger when this attack lands, the attack will be drained, and Hunger will wear off. Anyone who isn't already affected by Hunger will take the full brunt of the attack.

With more affinities than weaknesses, this fight becomes next to impossible if you don't exploit the weaknesses of the Corporobos. The initial waves will all have the same model of robot to get you warmed up, so spam all-target attacks when you're able to. Between Hifumi's given ability to switch party members and baton passes, you should be able to cheese their weaknesses and use them to your advantage.

Getting To The Treasure

the thieves about to start the journey to okumura's treasure and boss fight

As with Futaba, you didn’t actually find the treasure itself, so you’ll have to finish doing that before you can fight Shadow Okumura. He starts a self-destruct timer on the facility, and you’ve got ten minutes to escape before it blows up and takes the Phantom Thieves with it. Okumura, meanwhile,𝓀 is trying to get to an escape pod.

To start, warp to the last safe room you unlocked before leaving and follow the path that goes up the structure ahead. You can fight the shadows if you’d like, but you’ll want your HP and SP for the coming boss fight. Wไhen you hit an area with a doorway, go straight up to get🐼 a treasure chest and back down and into the doorway.

Inside the ꦑdoorway, it’s much of the same. Choose your battles wisely as you proceed toward the elevator and open another chest once you get out before going up to the switch that’ll take you to the final fight.

Getting Started

initial wave or corporobos fighting joker during the okumura boss fight

When the fight against Shadow Okumura begins, you’re given 30 real-time minutes in which you must finish the fight. Don’t underestimate this fight's endurance; failing to win within the half-hour time limit starts the entire process over again.

Though you’re in a boss fight against Shadow Okumura, he’s not your target right now. Kunikazu Okumura is a rich and powerful man, so his Corporobos will be fighting in his place to begin the fight. He'll be targeting one team member at a time here, so be mindful of that member's HP during this stage, as perpetual attacks will do enough damage to pose a risk.

Most importantly, remember that you only have two turns to clear each round of robots. If things progress into a third turn, the robots will flee from the stress of battle, and, annoyed, Shadow Okumura simply summons another cluster to take their place. The replacement robots will be at full health, so this effectively restarts the entire wave if you can't take them down in two turns.

At first, the fight against the waves of enemies is manageable if you use their weaknesses to your advantage. You’ll need to keep the momentum going for quite a while, as it’ll take a bit before Okumura gets tired of sending the weaker waves your way an🐼d ramps things up.

Varying Corporobos In Subsequent Waves

green corporobos arriving in a new wave to fight the phantom thieves

Of course, Okumura won't keep the fight straightforward the whole time – that’d be too easy. He comes at you with waves of enemies featuring different models of Corporobos to eliminate the effectiveness of your multi-target attacks and to instruct the ones who can self-destruct. Additionally, the💦 waves he sends will only get more powerful.

Dealing with the varying enemy types is irritating but not impossible. Once again, this is where Hifumi’s confidant ability and baton passes will come in handy, so b🙈e sure to use th༒em to your advantage during these stages whenever possible.

Keeping Personas with varying affinities on Joker is never a bad idea; use Joker’s assorted abilities to your advantage.

The real annoyance is when they begin to self-destruct. Once they’ve received the order from Okumura, they will self-destruct on their next turn. If you finish the robot before this, you'll prevent them from exploding. Otherwise, guard yourself to avoid having your HP chipped away.

If you don’t have any attacks that can do noticeable damage to them, don’t waste your turn. Use the t🅘ime to heal a party member or replenish SP because those two turns you ha𓆏ve per wave are far too valuable to do negligible damage.

Another irritation is the Haru Robot encouraging her father during the battle, allowing him to use a few moves of his own occasionally. He can use Rakukaja, Rakunda, Dekaja, and Famine’s Scream. It has a medium chance of inflicting Hunger on your party, so be mindful of curing it when you’re abl♑e.

Execurobo And Finishing Okumura

releasing execurobo to fight the phantom thieves okumura boss fight

Once you’ve endured enough waves of lesser Corporobos, Shadow Okumura grows tired of defeat and puts you up against his biggest threat yet: Execurobo. He’s the massive robot in a black suit with no weaknesses or affinities, so your team is free to chip away at him as you’re able.🐼 Be sure to lob your most🗹 powerful attacks his way while being mindful of your HP and SP.

The bulk of the fight is simple enough, but Execurobo does have a two-move attack pair you’ll need to watch out for, as it can decimate your team if you’re not prepared. He’ll begin by using Big Bang Order, which is your cue to have anyone not affected by Hunger guard for their next turn.

This will be followed by Big Bang Challenge, which deals heavy almighty damage to anyone who isn’t guarded or affected by Hunger. This is enough to kill, so plan accordingly when the attack begins.

If Execurobo has been buffed by Okumura’s Rakunda, do your best to debuff it before the Big Bang Challenge hits. With this buff, the attack may be enough to kill the party even if🌄 they’re guarding, which is especially true on higher difficulties.

The great news is that anyone affected by Hunger when Big Bang Challenge is unleashed drains the attack and cures their Hunger💯. Use a status ailment to your advantage f⛄or once, and let Execurobo heal anyone Okumura currently has hungry.

Cognitive Haru Robot

It takes some time, but eventually, Execurobo will go down with enough whittling away at his HP. When this happens, there’s nobody left to step in for Shadow Okumura besides his Cognitive Haru robot. Nothing like symbolically sacrificing your own✨ daughter in front of her, right?

unveiling the cognitive haru to the group and talking about how she's better

Cognitive Haru’s attacks are middling at best, so use the time to get your party ready, as Shadow Okumura will have her self-destruct after two turns. Heal💦 up the team one last time, as you’ll need at least one part🌺y member to survive Cognitive Haru’s self-destruction to win the fight.

As long as one Thief is left standing, Okumura will take to the battlefield himself. In Royal, he has a scant 1HP. So as long as you deal any actual damage to him, you’ll defeat him in a single blow.

Enjoy the cutscenes before heading back home, knowing you’ve﷽ finished the fifth palace for Persona 5 Royal.
