Talk about a sense of scale.

Whether you're a solo daredevil ꦛor part of a four-player squad, the climb demands planning, teamwork, and a lot of snacks. If you're just getting started, we’ve got you covered with some hard-earned beginner tips to help you make it to the summit in one piece, or at least without accidentally poisoning yourself.

Watch Out For Sea Urchins And Jellyfish

Player with a Sea Urchin in Peak.

Sea urchins and jellyfish are some of the first natural hazards you’ll encounter, and they can mess you up fast. Sea urchins will poison you if you touch them, and while antidote can be found in luggage, it’s always better to avoid the problem entirely. Jellyfish aren’t poisonous, but stepping on one will send you slipping, and a fall mid-climb can be a brutal setback.

If yoওu do get poisoned, don’t panic. Try to find a safe ledge and rest, movement will worsen your condition.

Always Keep Extra Food On You

Player holding a coconut in Peak.

Hunger is a constant threat in Peak. When your hunger bar drops, your stamina follows, and without stamina, you’re stuck. Always carry some backup food in your inventory.

One handy trick: climb palm trees, knock down coconuts, and throw them to crack them open. Each coconut gives you two pieces of food, making them one of the best early-game options to keep your stamina bar full.

Coconut halves don’t stack in your inventory, so mak🤪e space ahead of time.

Manage Your Stamina Carefully

Stamina is everything when climbing. Jumping and even basic movement drain it quickly, and if you run out at the wrong time, you could fall or be forced to stop mid-ascent. Try to plan routes with lots of ledges so you can rest and recover often. Be especially cauti🌳ous in steep sections, and never take stamina for granted.

Energy drinks provide a quick stamina refill in emergencies. Keep one or two on hand for surprise t🦩all vertical sections.

Help Your Friends Up The Mountain

Player reaching out in Peak.

Peak shines in co-op, and one of the most useful tools is the ability to help your teammates. By right-clicking with your mouse, you can offer a hand and pull your friend up when they’re short on stamina or struggling to reach a ledge. It’s a simp🅷le but powerful move that can keep the team moving and avoid them frꦇom crashing to their death.

Don't Eat The Green Berries

Player holding a berry in Peak.

Not all berries are safe. Green berries might look edible, but they’re unripe and poisonous. Eating them causes the same poisonous effect as touching a sea urchin. Instead, stick with red, yellow, or purple berries. They’re the 🎃👍safe options that restore stamina without making you sick.

Use Rope Aids Wisely

Player holding rope in Peak.

Rope aids are lifesavers in tough climbing situations. You’ll occasionally find them when looting, and they can help you ascend when you’re stuck with no visible path. But don’t waste them, save rope aids for truly desperate moments. They’re rare aꦯnd valuable, and smart use will make your climb much smoother.

Loot Every Luggage You See

Player pinging luggage in Peak.

Luggage is scattered all over the island, and each one is packed with useful survival items. From energy drinks to antidotes and rope aids, you’ll want to open every one you find. If you’re playing with friends, press the middle mouse button to ping luggage and help your team get geared up too. The more yꦺou loot, the better your🦩 odds of surviving.

Be Careful On Bridges

Bridges are tempting shortcuts, but don’t trust them completely. Some bridges in Peak are fragile and will break if you spend too much time on them. Cross quickly and avoid lingering. Falling from a broken bridge can mean serious backtracking, or worse, falꦦling to your death.

If a💟 bridge sta🍨rts to creak or wobble, that’s your cue to move. Go quickly across and don’t look back.

Don’t Overpack Your Backpack

Player wearing a backpack in Peak.

Right at the start of Peak, you’ll find a backpack, which is your main way of carrying food, tools, and other survival items. It’s tempting to grab everything in sight, but be careful: the heavier your pack, the lower your stamina bar.

Stick to the essentials like food, antidotes, rope aids, and energy drinks. If something isn’t directl🐼y helpin🅰g your survival or progress, ditch it. Traveling light keeps you much less likely to run out of steam halfway up a cliff.
